HTC nailed the Mobile World Congress event by announcing a trio of new Android devices. One of them was HTC One V, which was introduced as a "Value" device. The device actually reminds us of the HTC Legend, which was launched as a successor to the HTC Hero. AT&T will be launching the One X/XL, the HTC One S is headed to T-Mobile, and we've just learned that the HTC One V will be hitting at least three regional U.S. carriers.
PhoneScoop is reporting that an HTC spokesperson confirmed the HTC One V will be hitting MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular and Virgin Mobile. Unfortunately, the spokesperson was mute on a release date, but we will probably see it within a few months. It has a 1GHz processor, and runs Android 4.0 along with HTC Sense 4, which includes HTC's new ImageSense software that they demo'd at MWC. More on this as it develops.
So, is anyone on one of the three mentioned carriers looking forward to picking up an HTC One V? What's your favorite feature of the device? Sound off in the comments!

There were some fantastic announcements this week at MWC, there's no denying. Those keeping track may have noticed a curious silence on the Sprint end of things however, particularly from the HTC camp. Maybe there's a reason for that... PocketNow has received a bit of rumoring from a trusted informant of theirs, and it appears that the Now Network will be receiving its share of HTC One goodness in the form of a device code-named the HTC Jewel.
According to the informant, the Jewel will be a larger device featuring a high-definition screen (as is the norm these days), with the added caveat of LTE connectivity. As PocketNow mentioned, this would make sense given HTC's history of being Sprint's guinea pig for new network debuts. The informant gave no information regarding any potential pricing or release date, though if you go by previous history, you can expect sometime around June for $200 with a contract. Hopefully, when CTIA hits, we can get some good wholesome information from HTC and/or Sprint.
What do you think? Are you gunning for a Sprint phone this year? Are you waiting more for HTC or for Samsung or for some other device? Let us know in the comments!

With all of the official HTC news coming out of Barcelona this week we were pleasantly surprised to learn of a few new rumors.  One such leak was that Sprint is expected to offer a variant of the HTC One later this spring, possibly under the name of HTC Jewel.  Considered a codename for now, it would make sense for Sprint to brand it under their EVO umbrella, possibly as an EVO HD.
Another rumor that will likely gain a quick following is that T-Mobile will be carrying a stock Android 4.0 experience in an HTC smartphone.  What's more, it is suggested that it will be the quad-core HSPA model as opposed to the dual-core 4G LTE stuff that AT&T is getting.  In other words, a non-Sense HTC One for the nation's 4th largest carrier.
As much as the enthusiast crowd likes to put chipset benchmarks against each other and crown devices as king of the mountain, it's general consumers that drive Android adoption. Ask the average buyer to tell you the processor speed, type, or brand of their phone and watch their face.  They pretty much don't care what it is inside nor how it scores on Quadrant.  Their focus is typically on price first and experience second.
Still, that's not say there's not a crowd looking for vanilla Android 4.0 on a quad-core smartphone.

Toshiba's second generation 10-inch tablet, the Excite 10, is expected to go on sale at select U.S. retailers on March 6th, one day ahead of Apple and their new iPad announcement.  Arriving as the Excite 10 LE, the Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet will be offered in 16GB ($530) and 32GB ($600) models.   Initially announced back at CES earlier in the year, the tablet features a very thin form factor that houses a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear camera (1080p HD), and mini HDMI port.
At $529 and higher, Toshiba's tablet is priced competitively with other Android models but still higher than what consumers may be looking to spend.  Even though it's the thinnest and lightest tablet on the market, we sense that consumers would sacrifice a few millimeters for a $100 off...or more.

T-Mobile USA's Andrew Sherrard has confirmed that the wireless carrier has dropped plans to build out an HSPA+82 network and has instead opted to focus on LTE. Of course this is more than a few months off as T-Mobile hasn't quite finished building up its 42Mbps network. Even thought they've already expanded the reach of their HSPA+ network, there are still markets on the roadmap. However, once completed, T-Mobile plans to have its LTE network up and running a bulk of the top 50 U.S. markets by early 2013.
...Sherrard notes that T-Mobile won't be selling any more handsets that don't support 3G, which means that the total 2G load on the network will reduce over time; in other words, no one should feel an impact from losing that 2G capacity...
Head to The Verge for more on T-Mobile's plans.
