Posted: 13 Feb 2012 12:27 PM PST BitDefender, in keeping with the Valentine's Day spirit, has released a new virus protection that could save your (love) life. Called Relationship Scanner, it's a free service that checks and protects against the various types of viruses that can affect relationships. Although it's totally fun stuff that has no real impact on you and your loved one, it can earn you some free security for your computer or laptop. BitDefender Relationship Scanner: Keep your love life and Android free from virus originally appeared on AndroidGuys. First, you gotta run through the Relationship Scanner. Once you're all done you will have earned a 90 day license of Bitdefender Total Security 2012. While it's not the same as the Android application and service it's just as good and from a trusted name. If you have not tried BitDefender for your Android phone or tablet then we recommend kicking the tires on the 14-day trial!

Posted: 13 Feb 2012 11:33 AM PST Typically, performance benchmarks are used as bragging rights by Androidians all around the world on the internet. While there are several different benchmark applications available on the Android Market for free, Quadrant Standard has been one of the more popular ones over the years and has been updated to version 2.0 today. Quadrant had been lacking support for Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, as well as support for multi-core processors. Those are both resolved, let the overclocking begin! Quadrant Benchmark Updated to v2.0 with ICS Support originally appeared on AndroidGuys. Available today with a bit of a new GUI, v2.0 looks just a hair different. There is a quadrant score from my Epic 4G Touch aka Samsung Galaxy SII from Sprint. It's amazing how much slower TouchWiz is, compared to an AOSP scenario with CyanogenMod. I would see a score over 5000 in CM7. What's in this version:Also, we would love if you would send us comments about your device and what it scores. Having trouble finding the new version? Posted: 13 Feb 2012 11:15 AM PST Google just took to their official blog to announce that the European Commission has approved the Motorola acquisition. This doesn't exactly clear the entire deal across the board as there are but a few hurdles remaining. Nevertheless, Google is excited and looks forward to the final approval and getting a "supercharged" Android experience. This is an important milestone in the approval process and it moves us closer to closing the deal. We are now just waiting for decisions from a few other jurisdictions before we can close this transaction. As we outlined in August, the combination of Google and Motorola Mobility will help supercharge Android. It will also enhance competition and offer consumers faster innovation, greater choice and wonderful user experiences. Posted: 13 Feb 2012 11:07 AM PST Why bother waiting until your two year service agreement is up just to get that discounted handset when Sprint will let you do it now? According to SprintFeed, the Now Network fellas are letting a number of eligible users pick up a new smartphone with pro-rated upgrade fees that run anywhere from $36-$165 depending on tenure. If it has been more than eight months since your last upgrade then you may be able to get another discounted handset. You'll have to head to a corporate store to get the deal but there are a number of caveats to check first. The promo runs from February 12 through March 14th and only applies to select users. This won't work if you are on a corporate rate plan, or if the line is for an iDen phone, Airave, or tablet. Further, if you are in collections (shame, shame!) then you'll run into a brick wall. Here's a breakdown of expected upgrade fees for each time frame:

Posted: 13 Feb 2012 10:41 AM PST Mobile World Congress is around the corner and we told you that LG is on roll to introduce their new line-up at the mega event. We heard that LG is preparing the successor to Optimus 3D, which will be launched as LG 3D Max at the Mobile World Congress. Fortunately, the press shot of the Optimus 3D 2 is leaked ahead of the event and the phone looks better than the previous version. The biggest change is that it's very thin, only 9.8mm; whereas the predecessor is 11.9mm thick. LG Optimus 3D 2 Specs and Image Leaked originally appeared on AndroidGuys. We also know it comes with a high resolution IPS display, and we'll see it at the MWC along with the Optimus Vu, which was leaked a few days ago. It's likely that LG is going to shock all their competitors at the Mobile World Congress with their amazing line of new phones, but as HTC and others are ready to roll; it's not that easy. Well folks, that's all we know about this device, so tell us, are you looking forward to LG devices at the MWC? Posted: 13 Feb 2012 10:39 AM PST There are number of Android powered devices available on the market right now, but not all of them are beautiful enough to catch your eye. If someone asks me about the most attractive Android device, I would say it without any hesitation that it's Xperia Arc. However, I may need to reconsider this after reviewing the Acer CloudMobile.Have a look on the beauty: Acer to announce CloudMobile at MWC 2012 originally appeared on AndroidGuys. The phone is set to release in Q3 2012 with Android 4.1, a 4.3 inch 720p resolution display, Dolby Sound and that's all we know right now. You can expect a dual-core processor and around 1 GB RAM under the hood. Oh, and it's only 10mm thick. As the name suggests, the phone will be the first to offer Acer Cloud technology. The hardware is jaw-dropping, no doubt, but what about the software? It's running Android 4.1 but is the phone featuring Acer's custom UI? No word on that right now, but if it does come with a custom interface, then I hope it will be as amazing as the design of it. Folks, I am really looking forward to this beauty, so don't forget to share your thoughts about this device in the comment box below. More info will be out at the MWC. Posted: 13 Feb 2012 10:31 AM PST The carbon fiber protective kits from BodyGuardz are functional and look super cool. I'm personally not a fan of large, bulky cases especially on today's high end devices that boast a "super light and thin" form factor. These armor kits will protect your device from nicks and scratches, preserving the beauty of your high dollar Android. The last special they offered included free headphones with a $50 order, and this time they are giving 40% off their red carbon fiber kit. BodyGuardz Red Carbon Fiber Armor 40% Off for Valentine’s Day originally appeared on AndroidGuys. The video below illustrates the installation of the Carbon Fiber kit on an HTC EVO 4G. You'll see it isn't very difficult, in my opinion its easier than installing a screen protector. Keep in mind this 40% off promo is ONLY available on the RED armor kits, not the black or white. Click here to view the embedded video. This offer is only valid today and tomorrow, so don't hesitate. Use the coupon code: VALENTINE at checkout and watch 40% of the price disappear. The sale ends at midnight Mountain time on V-Day. Most armor kits retail for $19.95 which equates to a savings of $7.98. A red carbon fiber armor kit for under $12? Not too shabby. I forgot to mention, all their CF armor kits come with the ScreenGuardz screen protector too! Follow AndroidGuys on Facebook and Twitter and download the free AndroidGuys app for your device!
