Galaxy Note II may sell three times faster than predecessor Posted: 26 Sep 2012 12:39 PM PDT Samsung believes that the Galaxy Note II may sell up to three times faster than its predecessor over the course of the first 90 days. Thanks to a partnership of more than 260 carriers across 128 markets, there’s going to be a much bigger presence for the 5.5-inch smartphone that pulls double duty as a tablet. Figures are expected to be higher than 20 million for the next big, big thing and Samsung certainly doesn’t seem daunted by the release of the iPhone 5. Are you planning to pick up the Galaxy Note II when it comes to your respective carrier? Why or why not? We’d love to hear your feedback on the big, bad handset. Samsung remixes and recycles for two new “Next Big Thing” ads Posted: 26 Sep 2012 12:30 PM PDT Samsung has introduced two new versions of its current “Next Big Thing” commercial campaign, both coming in the form of shorter, 30-second spots. Using some of the same footage as before, we get to see a few familiar characters uttering more goofy and sad phrases. This is the line for apps, right? When you think we’ll be able to do… that? Have you ever had deja deja deja deja vu…?

Samsung Galaxy Music announcement rumored for October 11 Posted: 26 Sep 2012 08:44 AM PDT Samsung is reportedly sending out invitations to an October 11 event where they will be announce something new for their fans. It’s said that the little soiree takes place at a recently opened Samsung store in Germany and could revolve around a Galaxy Music device. The first time we saw the reference to a Galaxy Music came just this week when it was listed among other Samsung models promised to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Presumably this is the latest in the Galaxy Media series and functions as a device that handles everything but calls. On the other hand, the switch from media to music tells us it could potentially have less hardware and maybe lower price. The details for the Galaxy Music are said to include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 3-inch display, 850MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and 3-megapixel camera. Still beefier than some phones on the market, the Galaxy Music is said to offer microSD slot and feature front-facing loudspeakers, a dedicated music app key, FM Radio (built-in FM antenna), Samsung's SoundAlive technology and SRS. Oh, and then there’s this bit about it coming in single-SIM and dual-SIM models. Strange stuff to be certain, but we’ll get more details soon. What do you think of the Galaxy Music as it stands today? Is there any reason to even put something like this out or would Samsung be better served with focusing on higher-end stuff? Google Play blows past 25 billion app downloads Posted: 26 Sep 2012 08:22 AM PDT The Google Play Store has now seen 25 billion (with a ‘B’) installs of its Android-based apps and games, according to the official Android blog. And it’s not just a simple milestone reached at the same, steady rate. No, the Play Store is building momentum and growing at a ridiculous rate, going from 10 billion to 25 billion in less than one year’s time. Considering there’s now 675,000 recognized apps in the Google Play Store, it only makes sense that the number grows faster with time. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Google is offering a bunch of content for only 25¢ each!
Anyone want to guess when we’ll cross the 50 billion mark?

HTC One X+ for T-Mobile has its picture taken Posted: 26 Sep 2012 08:13 AM PDT The first images of a T-Mobile branded HTC One X has been spotted online, thanks to @evleaks. There are no new details accompanying the photo, however we’re pretty sure we know what to expect out of the device. The last time we checked, this handset is slated to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and feature HTC Sense 4.5 UI. Additional details are rumored to include an NVIDIA 1.6GHz quad core, processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, and an 1800mAh battery.
We’d be surprised if we got out of September without some form of acknowledgement of the handset from T-Mobile. The timing seems right for some for of announcement for October, even if it’s a “pricing and launch date to be determined.” HTC One X+ for T-Mobile has its picture taken was written by the way cool dudes at AndroidGuys.
