Apparently, Google Now tracks the distance you’ve walked and biked each month Posted: 01 Nov 2012 04:22 PM PDT Well this sure was something that surprised me. A buddy of mine sent me a screen shot of his Google Now in which it apparently tracked the distance he’s walked int he past two months. Other reports have also cited that it tracks you when you ride a bicycle. I actually had no idea Google would be implementing this so I find it pretty cool that it tracks that for you each month by using your Android device’s location from time to time. I know there’s people out there that are creeped out by the fact of how much info is sent back to Google, so I can see if this bugs a certain few. As for me, I think it’s great and kind of cool to see my total pace month by month. Has anyone else seen this in their Google Now on their Android device? Let us know! Thanks, Justin!

Google set to release a physical Google Wallet credit card Posted: 01 Nov 2012 04:08 PM PDT Thanks to Android Police, latest information upon Google’s next venture in their Google Wallet project has surfaced. According to AP’s sources backed with multiple images, Google is set to launch an actual Google Wallet credit card. The physical Google Wallet credit card will work just like a regular credit card, whatever your current selected default card on the Google Wallet app is, the physical Google Wallet card will be charged. This should work in any store that accepts any major card. I think this is pretty nifty and quite convenient. Imagine just having one card instead of carrying the multiple ones in your pocket. I feel like Google really has something here with the combination of phones with NFC that have the Google Wallet app plus the emergence of an actual physical Google Wallet card. This could be a great convenience for users. Only time shall tell if this truly becomes mainstream and something the average consumer will use, but one definitely can appreciate Google’s efforts. No word yet on when Google will officially announce this, but we’re sure it’s in the near future. Check out AP’s post on this in the source link for more info and pictures regarding Google’s upcoming physical Google Wallet credit card! source: Android Police

Android 4.2 Camera app with Photo Sphere now available for Galaxy Nexus Posted: 01 Nov 2012 02:21 PM PDT
Introduced on Monday, Android 4.2 brings a slew of new enhancements and features that rectify the minor jump in the version number. One of the most–if not the most–heavily touted features is Google’s entirely redesigned Camera and Gallery interface. The new build brings with it an intuitive options ring that pops up wherever you place your finger, allowing you to easily control the focus and various user settings. Also new is Photo Sphere, which has the ability to capture 360-degree images, similar to Google Maps Street View. You may be thinking, “all this is great, except I don’t have a Nexus 4.” This may be true, but if you have a Galaxy Nexus, the entire new app has been ripped from Android 4.2, and packaged into a nice .apk for easy installation. Sprint to launch LG Mach on November 11th Posted: 01 Nov 2012 01:14 PM PDT Slide-out keyboards seem to be filling the news today. We just received an email stating that Sprint will roll out the LG Mach on November 11th for $99 on-contract. Sporting a nice slide-out keyboard, the device also is respectable on the features front. Here’s what we’re looking at:
Slide-outs aren’t for everyone, but there are still a lot of you out there that prefer these devices. What are your thoughts on this particular device?

Samsung Stratosphere 2 images leak out Posted: 01 Nov 2012 01:01 PM PDT There are still quite a few users out there that prefer a real keyboard on your phones as opposed to a virtual one. After all, there’s a reason manufacturers still release this type of device. Today, courtesy of @evleaks (once again), we’re seeing some pictures leaked which look very much like the Stratosphere 2. It was about this time last year that Version released the original Stratosphere, so the timing seems to be right. As it’s merely a leaked picture, there’s obviously nothing to report as far as specs or pricing but we should see something official very soon. However, based on last year’s version, we can expect modest mid-range specs as this is an important variant in Verizon’s stable.

Featured Play Store Review: Hands on with ConnectiXX [Brain & Puzzle] Posted: 01 Nov 2012 12:31 PM PDT I’ve got a really cool new puzzle game to share with you guys. It’s called ConnectiXX and it was created by Matthias Lange. We recently reviewed one of his other games called Candy Racer, and I’m quickly becoming a fan of Matthias as this latest creation is a doozy. This one is a connect the dots type of game and is similar to the Japanese game called Hashi. In this game you are presented with a bunch of circles or islands. Each circle has a number in it which represents how many connecting points it must have. You will draw lines between any two circles, and when the line is completed, the numbers in both circles drop by one. So for example, if you have one circle with a 3 in it and the other has a 2, when you connect them with a line, you will now have two circles with a 2 and a 1 in them. Your job is to connect all the circles until you get down to zero for each circle and you can’t cross any existing lines. Are you confused? It’s really hard to explain, but it’s really quite simple. If you watch my hands on video below you will get the idea.
If you like puzzle games, you are going to fall in love with ConectiXX in a hurry. It’s easy enough at the beginning to get you started, but as you move up, it will get very tough. Plus, it has 200 levels, so you will be busy for a while. What’s also cool about ConnectiXX is that all the levels are unlocked, so if you want to jump ahead to level 140, have at it. The other interesting aspect of the game is that it will keep track of how long it takes you to solve each puzzle and give you the total time for whatever number of puzzles you have already solved. If you are the type that wonders how well you stack up against everyone else, you can see your rank if you sign in with your Scoreloop account. If you don’t have one, you can quickly and easily sign up for one, and if that’s not your thing, you will still have a blast trying to solve the puzzles. ConnectiXX is totally addicting and one of my favorite puzzlers right now. It’s completely free so give it a shot. Check out my video below for a better idea of how it works, and hit one of the download links to get started. As always, let me know what you think.
