Google Voice Force Closing On Android 4.2 Posted: 13 Nov 2012 03:19 PM PST Android Central is reporting the freshly released Android 4.2 update for the Nexus 4 is breaking Google Voice. Attempting to add a recipient to a new Google Voice message is causing the app to force close every time. The GSM Galaxy Nexus began receiving its update today as well but we’ve yet to see any reports of any Google Voice issues on the GNex. Source: Android Central

Posted: 13 Nov 2012 12:25 PM PST The source code for the latest version of Jelly Bean, Android 4.2, is now available on AOSP (Android Open Source Project). This means manufacturers and custom ROM developers can start using this code to build Android 4.2 ROMs for current device upgrades and, of course, future devices. We’re all that much closer to getting Photo Sphere, built-in gesture typing, the updated notifications with a new settings tab and a few other new features. For those of you who can’t wait, you can try out the new Android 4.2 apps via a flashable zip file for the Galaxy Nexus. Great news for all, or a consolation prize if you missed out on the Nexus 4 during the short window it was available this morning. The one bit of bad news is for the Nexus S which will not get updated past Android 4.1.2. The Nexus 7 3G and Nexus 4 are not yet supported in this AOSP source code release due to licensing issues. Hands on with the HTC DROID DNA for Verizon Wireless [Video] Posted: 13 Nov 2012 09:34 AM PST
This morning in New York City, HTC and Verizon introduced the DROID DNA. There really weren’t any surprises since all the leaks seemed to be spot on. It will come with a 5.0-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super LCD 3 display, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, microSD slot, NFC, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and Sense 4+. My initial thoughts is that this phone is absolutely stunning. When I picked it up, I thought I was carrying a dummy unit it was so light. The display is by far the best display available on a smartphone, and I can’t wait to spend some more time with it. For now check out our hands on video from the event, of which, I am sure you will be as impressed as I am. Click here to view the embedded video.

SugarSync announces 2.0 Beta, major overhaul to cloud based file service Posted: 13 Nov 2012 08:23 AM PST Today SugarSync announced the release of the public beta for SugarSync 2.0. The new version is a major update to the cloud based file storage service. The public beta announced today includes versions for Windows and Mac computers along with the mobile version for Android devices. iOS, Windows and other mobile platform users will have to wait a bit longer to get the new beta version. SugarSync has implemented a number of improvements, including an overhauled user interface. Even the web version closely mirrors the application. SugarSync makes it much easier to drag and drop folders onto the app so they will sync across devices. Sharing has been improved as well, again implementing a drag and drop interface that will let users share folders just by dropping a folder or file on a contact’s name. SugarSync has enabled cloud search and a new SugarSync Drive will show up on your computer. Check out SugarSync’s full press release after the break. If you are ready to skip that and want to check out the beta, just head over to http://www.sugarsync.com/beta/

Clock is ticking toward 9 am PST Nexus availability for U.S. customers Posted: 13 Nov 2012 05:34 AM PST Nexus fans in the US only have a few more hours to wait to place their orders for a new Nexus 4 or Nexus 10 device. Fans who have been watching overnight or who checked first thing this morning may have been disheartened a bit to see ordering open in places like Australia and the U.K. According to sources, Google’s support team is indicating U.S. customers will be able to start placing their orders at 9:00 am PST. So users on the East Coast will likely be taking lunch breaks at noon on the dot. Customers located in points west will surely try to squeeze in a quick break sometime this morning. It does appear the devices, especially the Nexus 4, are selling out quickly once ordering does open. If you want to be one of the first to get the new device, act fast. Be sure to let us know if you are able to get your order in. source: Android Police

CM10 Stable Builds Rolling Out To Select Devices Posted: 13 Nov 2012 04:40 AM PST
Those of you who have been looking to get some Jelly Bean lovin’ courtesy of the CyanogenMod team will be all smiles at this news. The CM team has officially announced the final CM10 stable builds are being released for a handful of devices at this time. The lucky devices to make the first cut at the Sprint and Verizon Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and LG Optimus Black smartphones. Unfortunately those devices are the only ones with a stable CM10 build as of now and there is no timeline for when other devices can finally taste the stable goodness just yet. Hopefully the CM team will work its magic and roll out additional builds to the other devices sooner than later.

GoPro App Finally Available For Android Posted: 13 Nov 2012 04:15 AM PST
Own a cool GoPro camera, but fancy an app that compliments the camera too? Well great you’re in luck because GoPro has officially unveiled its Android app, giving Android users the green light to control their app remotely. The app gives you a full listing of controls and options as well, making those candid shots of you hitting the waves or slopes look that much sweeter— especially since you don’t need to use your camera. The app is available in the Play Store today for all Android 2.2+ devices, though GoPro strongly recommends that users are on Android 4.0+ devices for the best frame rate. Additionally, the app is not compatible with the Original HD HERO, while the app compatibility with the other editions likes the HERO3: Black Edition, White and Silver Editions will be available later in the year.
