Samsung Galaxy Nexus my way: Joshua Muñoz Posted: 07 Apr 2012 12:10 PM PDT Seeing as how we've got this new rootin', tootin', fancypants series showing off how us Android Central staffers set up our phones, I figured I'd volunteer myself, write this little doodad, and step up to the plate. I don't move from phone-to-phone as often as my gadget lust would like (hey, I'm on a student's budget, ya know?), but no matter what device I've got, I tend to set them up the exact same way. Steel yourselves, and when you're ready to have your minds blown, join me after the break. |

Posted: 07 Apr 2012 09:29 AM PDT With new devices rolling out on what feels like a daily basis, making the decision of which device is worthy of signing the next two years away with can be a daunting task. While the push is towards the evolving and new technologies such as 4G LTE and others, that doesn't mean they are for everyone. LG has hit before with some great devices like the LG Spectrum among others, and they are back at it again with the LG Lucid. Could a device that launches with Gingerbread and promises Ice Cream Sandwich in the future be your next device? Could you put aside the fact that the display isn't 720P, or are these not things you are needing and just want a reliable Android device? Either way, let's hit the break and check out how the LG Lucid stacks up, and if it may just land in your pocket or purse. |

Android Central international round-up - April 7, 2012 Posted: 07 Apr 2012 03:14 AM PDT So this week was HTC week, and there was no shortage of stories about the launch of HTC's new hero devices, the One X and One S. We had reviews, previews, hands-on features, comparisons and everything in between. If you want to learn more about HTC's shiny new toys (and trust us, you do), be sure to check out the features list below. Both devices are out now in Europe, and every major network in the UK is offering the both phones on-contract at subsidized prices. Stateside, the One S is rumored to launch on T-Mobile in late April, with the One X tipped to follow shortly after in early May. In non-HTC news, Motorola revealed that the GSM/HSPA RAZR MAXX would be making its way to European shores from May. Consider our interest piqued. We're eager to see what kind of longevity Moto can deliver with a 3,300mAh pack and no battery-hogging LTE radio. Check some highlights from past week's Android developments in Europe, Asia and beyond in the list below. And if you've got international news, you can tip us at the usual address. AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G Gingerbread update finally available again, confirmed to work this time Posted: 06 Apr 2012 08:22 PM PDT It's been about two months since the AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G first saw its Android 2.3 Gingerbread made available, only to be yanked back due to some bugs. On Thursday, the download was finally revived via the Samsung Kies Mini application. Yes, folks. It's finally happening. (Again.) Here's a reminder of what you'll be getting in the Android 2.3.6 update, which takes the software version up to UCLB3:
A slightly odd development: AT&T in its forum post says that this update will hard-reset your phone -- as in wipe anything that was previously on it. But that wasn't the case with our update. Regardless, be sure to back up your contacts and e-mails and pictures and the like, just in case. Then be sure to download Kies, and get to updating. Should take about 5 minutes or so once it gets going. Download: Kies Mini for the Infuse 4G; More: Update instructions |
