Instagram 3.0 debuts on Android Posted: 16 Aug 2012 11:16 AM PDT Instagram today announced a new version of their popular Android (and iOS) application which adds in a number of handy features. This particular release (3.0) centers around the common theme of browsing experience, most notably with the debut of Photo Maps and redesigned user profiles.
Users will also notice that the uploading page is refreshed with a new layout and additional options. It's possible to toggle the Photo Map setting, upload to Tumblr, Flickr, Foursquare, and other avenues. Google Play gift cards look ready for retail Posted: 16 Aug 2012 07:28 AM PDT One of the biggest complaints we've had for Google Play (Android Market) since its first days is that there is no gift card option. With other companies (iTunes, Amazon, Barnes & Noble) allowing consumers to pre-pay or add gift credits, the Google Play store just has a glaring hole. Those days look to be over as pictures of Google Play gift cards are surfacing online. We'll go ahead and assume that these things are packaged up and ready to head of to your local drug store or superstore. If Google wants the Play Store to be talked about in the same manner as other distribution channels they'll want to get these in retail environments ASAP.
