HTC starts teasing their big announcements on Twitter Posted: 18 Sep 2012 10:35 AM PDT HTC has taken to Twitter to tease their new announcements which take place less than 24 hours from now. The image you see here is what just went live online, promptly sending nerds into a frenzy.
Whether this is a phone or tablet, it’s not quite clear. Nevertheless, we’re amped and cannot wait to see what else is in store for the September 19 event. Oh, and before you get all conspiracy theory on us about this being a tease of a 1080p device, remember that HTC uses the 10:08 time for many, many devices. That’s not to say we wouldn’t love one though! Here’s to hoping for Android goodies. HTC starts teasing their big announcements on Twitter was written by the way cool dudes at AndroidGuys. Rovio provides first gameplay footage of Bad Piggies Posted: 18 Sep 2012 10:24 AM PDT Rovio has thrown a video online which gives us our first look at the gameplay for their forthcoming Bad Piggies. The short clip, embedded below, actually looks like a completely different game than we were initially expecting. Rather than going after the birds or their eggs in a simple reversal of fortune, this one seems to be more puzzling and challenging, and maybe something we’d like to revisit over and over. Look for Bad Piggies to arrive on September 27.

Samsung pours cold water on Galaxy S IV rumor Posted: 18 Sep 2012 06:42 AM PDT Samsung doesn’t plan to announce the Galaxy S IV at Mobile World Congress 2013, at least not officially. Speaking from a Twitter account yesterday, Samsung’s Samsung Tomorrow advised that yesterday’s hot rumor was just that, a rumor.
If you’re not keen on your Korean, the statement above can be translated to “Please note that some media reported speculation that the Galaxy S Ⅲ subsequent models will be released “in a simple rumor is not true. Fixed’m not doing anything, why spread these rumors?” Things seemed pretty strange to us yesterday when we first learned of the rumor, and we didn’t know how much credibility to put into the claim. Considering the Galaxy S III is selling like crazy right now, Samsung would cannibalize its own sales if word officially got out that something bigger and better was coming soon. Of course, that’s actually the case as we fully anticipate a Galaxy S IV (or S 4) in 2013. What’s more, we would be willing to bet that Samsung goes with a standalone event in the same manner as this year’s model. LG Optimus G to hit global markets in October Posted: 18 Sep 2012 06:31 AM PDT LG today re-announced its quad-core Optimus G, confirming it for a Korean release next week, followed by a global rollout in October. Yes, this is the same handset introduced in late August. LG, for its part, decided today would be a better time for unveiling some of its key user experience features. Because the handset runs Android, the Optimus G can handle multi-tasking. LG, wanting to push boundaries, has introduced "cross-tasking" which lets users handle complex tasks across multiple apps simultaneously without having to compromise other tasks. Here’s a handful of examples of what LG has done to create and engaging experience for the Optimus G:
Getting back to the hardware, for a moment, the Optimus G features some cutting-edge technology, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.5GHz Quad-Core Krait CPUs and LTE. Additional details for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone include a 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPSPlus 1280 x 768 pixel display, 2GB DDR RAM, 32GB internal storage, and a 2100mAh battery. There are two cameras on the Optimus G, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera and a 13.0-megapixel shooter on the rear. According to LG, however, some markets will see an 8.0-megapixel camera in its place. LG Optimus G to hit global markets in October was written by the way cool dudes at AndroidGuys.
