This week in your world of Android: the Nexus 5 launched, KitKat became official along with the new Google launcher, Hangout finally learned SMS, the G Flex landed, and Motorola shocked us with Project Ara.
These are the essential stories, the summary of an entire week in just a few phrases. It's must read Android.
G Flex comes around

According to LG, the G Flex is the world's first true curved screen smartphone. The intriguing vertically curved device launched without fanfare at the beginning of the week.
One Hangouts to rule them all

You asked for it, and now Google delivered. Hangouts got a nice update this week, bringing SMS integration (finally!), animated GIF support, and a bunch of other improvements. Sweet!
Project Ara is like Phonebloks, but for real

Lots of people laughed at the Phonebloks modular phone concept, but no one is laughing now that Motorola announced its own modular phone: Project Ara. The first versions are expected this winter.
World, meet the Nexus 5

Enough with the rumors, the Nexus 5 is official. Some fortunate souls even got theirs in the mail already, following a smooth launch and enthusiastic reception. This is what you need to know:
Sweet, sweet KitKat

KitKat brought more than a name change to Android. The new Android 4.4 works on devices with as little as 512MB of RAM, features a streamlined design, and adds a batch of cool new features.
Your homescreen, now with more Google

One of the most interesting new features in KitKat is a new launcher, called the Google Experience Launcher. As it turns out, that's more than a regular old launcher, integrating Google Now and Google Search into one super app.
