Verizon’s Galaxy Note II arrives November 29 Posted: 28 Nov 2012 09:49 AM PST Verizon and Samsung have officially confirmed that the Galaxy Note II will be available at the carrier’s retail locations on November 29. What’s more, those that pre-ordered the device will find that they will be receiving the smartphone on the same day. HTC taps new marketing chief in turnaround effort Posted: 28 Nov 2012 08:53 AM PST HTC has hired a new marketing chief to help the company kick off a new phase of brand marketing in the coming year. Taking his seat in January, Benjamin Ho will replace outgoing John Wang as the company’s head of marketing decisions. Internally, HTC is referring to this new effort as ‘Marketing 2.0′ as it hopes to to gain back some of the market share and profits that has been lost to Samsung and other players. Android now powers 44% of tablet market Posted: 28 Nov 2012 07:31 AM PST Android continues to chip away at Apple’s dominance in the tablet market and now holds more than 44 percent of the market. Apple still holds strong at 55 percent of the overall field however it has given up 14 percent of the pie to Samsung, Google, Amazon, and others. U.S. Cellular adds $80 Samsung Galaxy Axiom Posted: 28 Nov 2012 06:20 AM PST U.S. Cellular has added the Samsung Galaxy Axiom to its portfolio of Android smartphones. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the handset features a 4.0-inch WVGA display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and 4GB internal storage. Additional details include NFC support, GPS, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and Samsung’s apps like S Voice and S Beam.
