Interactive Entertainment have launched The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth App for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices. The free-to-play strategy game is inspired by The Hobbit Trilogy, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM). Peter Jackson's film trilogy, which begins with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is based on the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. Sam’s Club to offer Galaxy S III for 96¢ on Black Friday Posted: 08 Nov 2012 12:34 PM PST Sam’s Club has a number of Android-based deals for Black Friday, November 23, including the Galaxy S III for less than a dollar. Even factoring in your annual membership, the overall cost of the handset is much lower than the average $199.99 sticker. Other sales include both the 7-inch and 10.1-inch versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

Verizon plans to wrap 4G LTE rollout in mid-2013 Posted: 08 Nov 2012 09:20 AM PST Verizon anticipates that it will blanket the nation with 4G LTE coverage by the middle of next year, roughly six months faster than initially expected. Speaking at a media/telecom conference today, CFO Frank Shammo advised that Verizon’s 4G network will closely mirror their 3G network within the next 6-8 months. Well ahead of schedule and its competition, the carrier already spreads to more than 250 million Americans, or most of the country.

Sony’s 5-inch ‘Yuga’ spied in wild Posted: 08 Nov 2012 08:42 AM PST The first set of images for an upcoming Sony C6603 “Yuga” smartphone have appeared online, thanks to German tech blog AndroidSchweiz. Recently found in AnTuTu benchmarks, the phone looks to have some rather remarkable hardware. With details that include a 1.5GHz (likely Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core) processor, 2GB RAM, a 12-megapixel camera, and a 5-inch 1080p HD display, it’s all set to take on the Galaxy Note and HTC J Butterfly/Droid DNA. T-Mobile loses half million post-paid subscribers in Q3 Posted: 08 Nov 2012 07:56 AM PST T-Mobile USA nearly one half million (492,000) contracted customers during the third quarter of 2012, so says the carrier today. The nation’s fourth largest wireless provider released its quarterly earnings report today which includes some of the bullet points below. While it’s a mix of good and not-so-good, the takeaway is that the carrier is not moving forward all that fast. As of the end of September, T-Mobile is listed as having 33.3 million subscribers. Maybe spending a little cash on MetroPCS will fix things faster.. Samsung Galaxy Express touches down at AT&T on November 16 Posted: 08 Nov 2012 07:28 AM PST AT&T today announced that they will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Express on Friday, November 16. Priced at $99.99 with a two-year service agreement, the Android 4.0 handset will make for a great first-time smartphone. As a reminder, AT&T is also offering a limited time promotion which sees customers getting up to $100 off a second connected Samsung device. Don’t forget, Ma Bell will be selling the 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 at the same time. What’s in the Samsung Galaxy Express, you ask?
