Verge: Moto X not to land on Verizon as a Droid Posted: 03 Jul 2013 03:01 PM PDT Yesterday, we saw the first ever ad of the Moto X, a flagship smartphone that will land in the market sooner or later. Recently, names of the upcoming Droid devices were leaked i.e. Droid Ultra and Droid RAZR M. It was assumed that probably one of these smartphones is the Moto X, but it seems the upcoming Google-Motorola flagship is not going to fall under the famous Verizon brand, ‘DROID’. The Verge is reporting that multiple sources told them that Moto X will not be a Droid device on Verizon. Although, that doesn’t mean its the end of the Droids. The devices we heard about, like the Ultra and RAZR M, they are rumored to land at Verizon; the Ultra is reported to be thin and will be available in several glossy colors, just like the Moto X. In a way, it can be said that Ultra might be the “DROID” version of the Moto X. Anyway, lets just wait for official words from Motorola and Verizon. However, one things can be said that Motorola will be launching some really good smartphones in coming months, so stay tuned. Are you looking forward to the upcoming devices from Motorola? Tell us about it in the comment box below. Source: The Verge

First look at Moto X back covers Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:23 PM PDT In last few days, we heard a lot about the upcoming Motorola flagship device, the Moto X. Just few hours ago, we told you that the Moto X will offer color choice and engravings, making it the “first smartphone that you can design yourself“, as mentioned in the ad. Now, a French website leaked the first image of the back covers of the Moto X, and you can see below that they do come in different colors. Have a look: The source of the photo said that the phone will be available in at least 16 different colors. It seems that Motorola is really trying hard to make it a “perfectly tailored” smartphone for the user. What do you think about it? Do you think the Moto X will be a hit? Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumored with 3GB RAM Posted: 03 Jul 2013 01:49 PM PDT Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Note 3 will be among the first smartphones in the world to feature 3GB RAM, according to new reports. Korean newspaper, The Korea Economic Daily tells us the Galaxy Note 3 will have 3GB RAM, a rumor we’ve heard a time or two in the past. As the next, next big thing, the Galaxy Note 2 successor has been tied to a myriad of rumors, including a flexible display, Android 4.3, and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. If history proves to be an accurate marker, we might look for multiple processor and/or display options for users in different markets. Some, for example, could see the Qualcomm CPU while others get Samsung’s own Octa-Core Exynos chipset. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013 in Berlin at a Samsung Unpacked event. LG Optimus G2 rumored with 5.2-inch 1080p display, rear buttons Posted: 03 Jul 2013 11:49 AM PDT The picture for the upcoming LG Optimus G2 gets clearer by the week – assuming you consider every rumor you read to be gospel. Nevertheless we do get the occasional tidbit that sounds worth passing along. Such is the case today as we have a fresh batch of details to share. Reportedly, the LG Optimus G2 will employ a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display and a rear 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Found in other top smartphones, the technology helps to provide a more fluid and natural video experience. Keeping things nice and compact, the Optimus G2 is rumored to have moved the buttons to the rear of the device. By doing so the phone will have less wasted and unused space around the display. The backside is purported to play host to volume rockers and the power button. Other specifications we might expect for the Optimus G2 include a Snapdragon 800 processor (quad-core), 2GB RAM, and the standard fare of flagship hardware. LG has an event slated for August 7 in New York where it is expected we see the official unveiling of the next-generation Optimus G smartphone. Rumors have been circulating for this device for quite a long time; we’re ready to put it to bed. If the Galaxy S4 keeps selling at this rate, we could be looking at the most popular smartphone from Samsung. In all honesty however, are you really surprised? Let us know what you are thinking in the comments below! Note: Samsung has yet to confirm that it has sold 20 million units. We will see what they report at their earnings call later this week.

Simple Mobile launches new plans, increases 4G data limits Posted: 03 Jul 2013 06:40 AM PDT If you are in the market for a solid no-contract plan some news came out today that may interest you. Simple Mobile launched new plans this morning which included increasing their previously modest 4G data limits. Earlier plans were already quite the deal and now customers can receive even more ‘bang for their buck.’ Not only do the new plans offer increased 4G data at every level, but each plan also includes unlimited talk, text, and web. Here is a breakdown of what they offer:
Note: Simple Mobile runs off of T-Mobile’s network. Users must have 4G coverage in the area to take advantage of the 4G speeds. Once a user hits the 4G data limit, speeds are reduced to 3G/2G for the remainder of the billing cycle. Need a pay-as-you-go option for international calls? They have that as well. Simple Mobile recently adjusted their international pay-as-you go add-on that can be attached to any plan at any time for $10. Still not quite sure whether no-contract is right for you? Check out our review of Simple Mobile, or head on over to Simple Mobile’s website for more details.
