Google announced late last week that a new Android Device Manager service will make it possible to locate missing or stolen devices. Slated to roll officially out later this month, we’ve already noticed a handful of readers that are seeing the update on their handset.
Details include the ability to ring a phone at full volume, even if it’s on silent mode, locate it on a map in real time, and remotely wipe the data. Android Device Manager service is created to work on Android 2.2 and above, so pretty much everyone will see this option show up.
Have you received the update yet? Did you try an of the features?
