Google Play pips the App Store in downloads, dwindles in dollars Aug 1st 2013, 10:58, by Kris Carlon For the first time ever, the Google Play Store has surpassed Apple's App Store in brute number of downloads, but the Californian money maker is still dominating in terms of revenue generated from those downloads. Keeping in mind that both app centers charge developers 30% of the price tag for the distribution of their apps, it's clear to see where the better deals are.
