Way back in March we brought you word of the upcoming Meizu MX3. Fast-forwarding to today, we only have a few days left before the phone is expected to officially be announced. In the meantime, we bring you news of two new pieces of ‘leaked’ information about the MX3.
First, a new set of images are going around the web. To be honest, the images aren’t terribly exciting – not only are they a bit blurry, but it’s far from the first time the handset has been spotted on camera. What makes them significant is that they are supposedly official press release images, giving us a more ‘official’ look at the device.
The real excitement comes from the second leak. Apparently the upcoming handset will ship with an 128GB storage option, though smaller storage sizes will also be available. For those that have a love for tons of apps and stored multimedia content, 128GB of internal space could certainly be a dream come true.
Aside from the storage space, previous rumors also give us a pretty clear picture of what to expect from the rest of the device’s hardware.
The Meizu MX3 is rumored to have a 5.1-inch 1080p display, an Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB RAM, NFC and a 13MP rear cam. The handset also will run on the customized Flyme 3.0, which is basically a modified version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Meizu MX3 will reportedly set consumers back 1,999 CNY, or about $327 – of course that’s for the base model. The 128GB is excepted to be closer to that of other flagship handsets outside of China, so around $600.
Keep in mind that all of the specs and images come from non-official sources, and therefore speculation is advised. It’s also unlikely the phone will ever officially launch outside of China, though with more Chinese manufacturers expanding their global presence, there is at least a small sliver of a chance.
