While earlier reports stated that the Moto X would be available from most carriers on August 23, only AT&T currently has the device on offer, along with the added benefit of being the only carrier offering the use of the Moto Maker device customization feature. Sprint and Verizon both have pre-registration pages up with the device being available “in the coming weeks,” but Verizon seems to be on track to meet a previously suggested August 29 launch, according to some Droid Life sources.
The report also mentions that certain third party Verizon retailers will have to order the phone for you as they may have very limited stock. If launched on August 29, we’re not yet sure if Verizon stores will face the same “constrained inventory” problem or not. For now, the woven white and woven black versions of the device will be available from Verizon, with the use of Moto Maker available only later in November, once the exclusive deal with AT&T runs out. The price of the device is expected to be the same as that of AT&T, at $199.99 for the 16GB version.
