We've first seen the G Pad name in a trademark filing back in July, and rumors about LG's new tablet have been popping up on our radars ever since.
LG just officially revealed the existence of the G Pad 8.3, its first effort in the tablet fray since the Optimus Pad two years ago.
We now officially know that the G Pad will feature an 8.3-inch display of high resolution, with rumors suggesting a 1920 x 1200 display with a film-based touch panel similar to the one on the new iPad. LG seems to be marching on the idea of getting the dimensions of the G Pad just right, as opposed to the "awkward" 10-inch models and to underpowered smaller models currently on the market.
The fact that LG chose to name its new G Pad 8.3 seems to suggest that models of other dimensions may be coming in the future. The G Pad 8.3 will be unveiled at IFA 2013 in the first week of September, with store availability to follow over the next few weeks.
