The HTC Zara has been making the rounds of the rumor mill for quite a while now, following a report that indicated that HTC would be releasing a few mid-range smartphones in Q4 of this year, along with the highly-anticipated HTC One Max. EvLeaks, who last month leaked the specifications and an alleged press shot of the upcoming mid-ranger, has now leaked what the product release name of the device is going to be.
HTC Zara will ship as the Desire 601

According to the previous leak, the HTC Desire 601, which makes it the next iteration of the already available Desire 600, is expected to feature specifications that include a dual-core Qualcomm 400 processor, a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1GB or RAM, 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card, an 8MP camera, and a 2,100 mAh battery. The software is Android 4.3 with a newer UI overlay, HTC Sense 5.5, on top.
Along with the rumored HTC Zara Mini that showed up in leaked images a few days ago, we’re up to three new smartphones from HTC to look forward to, with all three devices slated for an announcement later this month. Of course, it’ll be amazing to see any/all of these devices show up at IFA 2013 that is beginning this week, but with Sony and Samsung both vying for the spotlight, a later announcement by HTC might be a better idea.
What are your thoughts? Will you be picking up the HTC Desire 601 when it is released?
