Following the Android 4.4 KitKat announcement, Motorola has already updated its software upgrade news portal with details about eligible upgrades for certain Motorola handsets.
So far, the Moto X and the most recent Droids (Ultra, Maxx and Mini) have been confirmed to receive KitKat at some point in the future, although an actual launch date has not been specified for either model.
Motorola did say on Google+ that it's excited about this Halloween and that it will have "more to share soon" about it.
Comparatively, HTC has already announced that its U.S. HTC One models will be upgraded to KitKat in 90 days or so, with the Google Play edition of the phone expected to get it in the coming weeks.
Since Motorola is now a Google company, and since KitKat is supposed to run on older hardware as well, we wouldn't be surprised to see Moto announce Android 4.4 update plans for other handsets in the future.
We'll be back with more KitKat update news for the Moto X and the 2013 Droid models as soon as we have them!
