Own a Samsung Galaxy S 4 on U.S. Cellular? If so, this is a big weekend for you, because your handset is receiving its bump up to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Samsung recently posted an official changelog for the update, revealing that it bumps the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S 4 up to software version R970VXUAMJA. So just what’s inside this fresh bundle of update-y goodness? Here’s what USCC GS4 users can expect to find after installation:
DEVICE ENHANCEMENTS
UPDATED APPS
- City ID 1.25.11
- Mobile TV 5.1.3.65-265549
- MobiTiles 5.30.0.20
- Slacker Radio 4.0.1034
- TRD 2.0.32b
- WiFi Now 4.5.90
- YND 3.2.3.7230059
- Mobile Security 6.6.16.32
- Amazon Shopping 2.6.0
That may not be the largest changelog we’ve ever seen, and there are definitely quite a few updates for preinstalled apps on there, but the big news is the inclusion of both Galaxy Gear compatibility and Android 4.3. The former means that users can take full advantage of Samsung’s new smartwatch without having to shell out for a new Note 3, and the latter is great because who doesn’t like to be bumped up to a newer version of Android, am I right? U.S. Cellular Galaxy S 4 owners that have yet to receive their own 4.3 update can check for it manually by moseying on in to Settings > More > System Update > Update Samsung Software. Happy updating!
