Parrot announces AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition Aug 15th 2013, 17:17, by Scott Webster Parrot announced on Thursday that a new, longer flying version of its popular AR.Drone 2.0 is now available. Called the “AR.Drone 2.0 Power Edition”, it features not one, but two higher capacity batteries which provide a total flying time of 36 minutes. In addition to flying longer, this guy also comes with three interchangeable colors for propellers: blazing red, fiery orange and cool blue. What’s included in the box? 1 Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 1 piano black indoor hull 1 piano black outdoor hull 2 High Density batteries 4 sets of propellers (blue, orange, red and black) 1 "circlip remover" (to change propellers) We’ve been testing the standard model of the AR.Drone 2.0 with our NVIDIA Shield and really love the thing. Aside from the limited 12-15 minutes of flying time, we’re head over heels with the way it works with Android and iOS devices. 'Dots' game comes to Google Play, Amazon Appstore Aug 15th 2013, 17:09, by Andrew Martonik Another great and simple puzzle game makes its way to Android. Popular iOS game "Dots" is making the move to Android today, and its bringing with it a new game mode as well. Well-known and enjoyed for its simplicity, Dots has basic puzzle-style gameplay based on connecting dots with the swipe of a finger to build up bonuses and points. The standard gameplay gives you 60 seconds to connect as many dots and get the most points. New to the game in its move to Android is a "Moves" mode, which gives you a limited set of moves rather than a limited amount of time. It's another way to think of the game that's a little more relaxed. LG G Pad rumors: a razor-sharp Retina display & call-enabled SIM card Aug 15th 2013, 16:00, by Loie Favre After mid-July's news of LG removing the word Optimus from the names of its top smartphones and tablets, replacing it with simply the letter G, there were talks about a G Watch, G PAD and G Glass. These were speculated to be showcased at the IFA consumer electronics fair in Berlin which kicks off early September. Now new, more specific details regarding the LG G Pad have come to light from Greek TechBlog, suggesting that this 8.3 inch tablet is actually the real thing. The best thing to be said about today’s news is that at least it’s not from AT&T again. The bad news is that only the Verizon version of the LG G2 will feature wireless charging. We’re a bit shocked that this feature wasn’t included in all the models of the device, but we’re also disappointed in the “exclusive” marketing. It’s not a major selling point, but the fact that it’s exclusive makes it downright frustrating. The Verizon model also features a slight design change, seen in the rear buttons, and comes standards with some obnoxious logos. What do you think about all of this? HTC had plans for an 'HTC Design Studio' but scrapped them Aug 15th 2013, 15:14, by Nick Sarafolean Motorola has been receiving all sorts of attention because of its MotoMaker software that allows you to customize your Moto X. But apparently HTC beat them to the party, at least with the concept. A new leak to The Verge shows off what was going to be an ‘HTC Design Studio’ which is an HTC equivalent of MotoMaker. Now before you get too excited about customizing an HTC One, HTC Design Studio was originally designed only for the Windows Phone 8XT on Sprint. There were four different options for customizing color that included the speaker, accents, the top and bottom highlights as well as an option to have a custom engraving. Don’t get too down in the dumps though; it’s entirely possible that HTC could have expanded this to include other devices in its line-up. In fact, HTC probably would have had the idea not been scrapped due to worries about the cost effectiveness as well as the complexity of customizing the phones. But if Motorola is successful with the customization aspect, it’s entirely possible that HTC could revive Design Studio and do the same thing. Would you enjoy customizing one of HTC’s phones?

5.2-inch Nexus 5 to come from LG, report says Aug 15th 2013, 16:06, by Scott Webster Despite denying having anything to do with a Nexus 5 back in May, LG is once again rumored to be working on the next-generation of Nexus smartphone. According to MyDrivers, a 5.2-inch smartphone is on the docket with other higher-end hardware. Details are reported to include a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, a 10-megapixel rear camera, and 3,000mAh battery. Presumably running Android 4.3 (or later), the phone is also said to include 16GB/32GB flavors with multi-mode carrier support. One particularly interesting note is that the rear button form factor of the LG G2 will not be in place for the so-called Nexus 5. According to the source, LG has moved the buttons back to the side for this model. Maybe it’s time to dust off those Megalodon rumors from way back in March?
