The first signs of a new version of Android have surfaced through Chromium, suggesting that Google is already testing something fresher than 4.3 Jelly Bean. A user on the bug tracker recently indicated that he tested multiple devices, including a Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 running a KRS36B build of Android. We probably don’t have to tell you this, but the ‘K’ at the beginning indicates we could be on Key Lime Pie.
Sadly, there are no other details to share as of yet; we’ll have to wait for more stuff to spill out in regards to the software build. With that said, we would not be surprised if there were a new version of Android released later this fall with a next-generation Nexus device.
