The top four U.S. carriers are expected to offer the Moto X (read our review!) on August 23, according to a recent Ad Age report. We’ve previously heard that Verizon would carry the new smartphone on this day, but it’s the first we’ve seen any hard dates for others.
The phone will be available on wireless carrier shelves August 23, according to people familiar with the situation. All four of the major carriers – AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon – will carry the phone at that time.
However, the customizable colors will be exclusive to AT&T at first. The other three carriers will carry Moto Xs in stock black and white until early November. At that point, the three other carriers will allow customers to choose from all the color options.
We’re glad to see that AT&T won’t have a stranglehold on the customization of the Moto X. Not that having both black and white versions is a terrible option, but we’d love to see this really great feature opened up to everyone.
