A new set of purportedly leaked HTC One Max images has been published online, and we're looking at the best-looking leaked photos so far.
The high-resolution pictures have been shared by a Chinese website, and they seem to tell basically the same story revealed by previous leaks.
We're looking at an HTC One-like design, albeit the HTC One Max will indeed have a fingerprint scanner on the back, just as previous rumors suggested.
In fact, a recent report says that the fingerprint scanner will not only be used to unlock the device, as it will also be able to trigger various apps, based on the finger you touch the screen with.
The function is yet to be officially confirmed, but it certainly sounds like something a device that recognizes fingerprints could do. That said, in real world usage, one might find it harder to assign an app to the pinky finger and then trigger it with the help of the fingerprint scanner on such a huge device – we’ll just have to wait and see how the feature, if real, will work.
We'll also note that a fingerprint scanner on the back with added "button" functions would actually help HTC fight Apple’s iPhone 5S (the fingerprint features), LG’s G2 (the buttons on the back of the device) and Samsung’s and Sony’s extra-large smartphones with a single device.
Getting back to the images here, it looks like there's no Beats Audio on the HTC One Max, or at least Beats branding is missing on this unit.
More interestingly, the power switch has been moved to the left side of the handset, with an infrared sensor being apparently placed in its stead, on the top of the device.
We expect to see the HTC One Max become official later this week, at which point we'll be able to tell you more details about it.
