Although Google Glass is still a product in beta development, the people who have managed to get their hands on a pair have been busy trying to figure out just how the devices could change the world. ESPN apparently decided one way might be to change the game of football, especially at the professional level. NFL games have all kinds of cameras scattered throughout a stadium during a game, including what was at one time the “latest” technology, the SkyCam. So why not add another one, this time giving you a player’s or coach’s view of things. With that in mind, ESPN visited the St. Louis Rams to give it a go using a couple pairs of Google Glass devices.
The resulting videos show a little bit of what the game might look like if players were allowed to wear and record with a pair of Google Glass. As discussed in the video, entertainment is not the only potential use for the devices. Although the NFL resisted the use of in-helmet radios for years, there is still the possibility they might allow the use of Google Glass even if teams used them for things like sending in play calls.
Check out the video below and then let us know what kind of creative use you would like to see for Google Glass.
