Just in time for the back-to-school season, HTC will release the One Max, its hopeful Galaxy Note-killer, in early September. The information supplied by Mobile Geeks comes straight from Sascha Pallenberg's Taiwanese insiders, and we tend to believe in its veracity.
The HTC One Max will primarily compete against Samsung's successful Galaxy Note line, which is due for a refresher just ahead of IFA 2013 in early September, but there are other players in the phone-tablet hybrid arena that HTC has to worry about. In addition to the Huawei Ascend Mate, which is already on the market, the One Max will also have to square off against the Xperia Z Ultra. Sony's incredibly thin 6.4 device is expected to grace the shelves of the first stores in early fall.
Even with fierce competition, the One Max looks born to be a winner – a Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM will let the device fly through the benchmarks, and the Max is expected to appropriate all the cool features of the HTC One, from the UltraPixels camera to the aluminum unibody that earned HTC so many awards.
In addition to the One Max, Mobile Geeks also confirmed our hunch that the HTC One Mini would arrive by the end of July, to give the Galaxy S4 Mini a serious run for its money.
