Amazon is working on an Android-based gaming console for release later this year, according to GameInformer.
Reportedly, the device will feature its own controller and could leverage the existing Appstore library and strategy with daily offerings of free games and apps. Sadly, there are no additional details at this point; however, the gaming site posits that that it could be hear in time for Black Friday. Naturally, Amazon has yet to make any statements or confirmations of the rumored device.
With so many companies getting into the low-cost Android gaming consoles and controllers, it makes sense that Amazon might want their own unit. We might expect them to offer something in an attractive price point, maybe on par with the OUYA.
