Paired with the MotoMaker, the Moto X really is a neat device, and what makes the experience more enjoyable is accessories. Motorola today launched two accessories to go with the Moto X — a car dock and a desktop dock.
Both docks are manufactured by Griffin, and they're selling for $39.95 each. The desktop dock is pretty much your standard dock, though it does look a bit more stylish than most. It has a microUSB port to provide power, and can hold phones up to 2mm thick, meaning you'll be able to use it for more than just the Moto X, if you wish.
As for the vehicle dock, it's also pretty standard for car docks — you have the usual suction-cup design to fit it nicely on your windshield. Then, when you plug your Moto X in, driving mode is enabled, and all of the hands free features work just as advertised. We're not sure if it'll be able to handle phones other than the Moto X like the desktop dock can, but the grip plate is supposed to be able to hold “all but the bulkiest cases” for the Moto X.
It's actually quite impressive that Motorola already has accessories available for the Moto X. If you remember, it took forever for Google to launch various accessories for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10.
Anyone interested in either of these two docks?
