Like the idea of Motorola’s new Moto X smartphone line but aren’t quite sold on spending $200 for one? Perhaps you’re more of a pre-paid/no-contract type user who doesn’t like to commit to long term plans. You’re in luck; Motorola plans to release less expensive Moto X devices in the coming months.
“Moto X is the brand that we are most focused on…And there is more to come. You will see additional products within months.” – CEO Dennis Woodside
Speaking with CNET on Thursday, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside advised that there are plans in place to release new Moto X devices in the next few months. The trick, as he points out, is trying to balance specifications and features with price; consumers won’t flock to outdated hardware, even at low prices.
“The experience of devices you can get for less than $200 is subpar right now…We want everyone to have access to affordable smartphones.”
