Samsung Galaxy Gear concept
More specs and features for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch have been mentioned in a new report, with a few days to go until the device becomes official.
Expected to be introduced on September 4 alongside the Galaxy Note 3 in Berlin, Germany, the Galaxy Gear has been the star of plenty of reports, with many of them offering plenty of unconfirmed details about the smartwatch.
Now, AmongTech has apparently learned from its "sources working at Samsung Warehouse located in Texas" even more details that complete the specs sheet for the Galaxy Gear.
Previous reports did say that the handset will have a 2.5-inch OLED touchscreen display with 320 x 320 resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and NFC connectivity, camera, speakers, accelerometer, and run a Jelly Bean-based OS version.
In addition to the specs above, AmongTech says the Galaxy Gear packs a 4-megapixel camera with 720p video recording, speakers placed in the strap, 1GB of RAM, and 6GB or 8GB of storage – apparently two models will be available.
Finally, the smartwatch is said to offer only about 10 hours of battery life.
Naturally, these specs can't be confirmed at this time, so we'll just have to wait for the Galaxy Gear to be unveiled.
We will note that images, pricing details and launch dates are still unavailable, but we wouldn't be surprised to see them mentioned soon, even before the actual announcement of the smartwatch.
