Just a few days ago, an HTC One sign-up page sprung up on Verizon's website. While there were plenty of rumored dates connected to the handset, Verizon's teaser page only said the phone was "coming later this summer".
Thankfully, Verizon's silence is over. Taking to Twitter, Verizon has now officially confirmed the handset will arrive come August 22nd for a price of $199 with two year contract.
About time, Verizon!
The HTC One was first introduced back in February, and has been available from other carriers for many months. This makes the Verizon HTC One more than just late to the party. Hell, the party is over, cleaned up and HTC is now busy preparing for its next shindig with the HTC One Max.
Back on point, all this delaying means that the HTC One isn’t exactly a spring chicken anymore. Even worse for the One, it has some very stiff competition ahead. Not only does Big Red have Droids incoming, but there is also the Moto X, the LG G2 and eventually even the Note 3.
Still, even with the passing of time, the HTC One is still a very capable, attractive handset and could be totally worth the wait for some consumers, especially HTC fans. As a refresher, the phone rocks a 4.7-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, an UltraPixel rear cam and Android Jelly Bean.
So how about it, plan on picking up the HTC One on August 22nd or does another incoming handset have your attention instead?
