Amazon smartphone won't come this year, and won't be free Sep 9th 2013, 05:01, by Aditya Thawardas Back off talk of an Amazon phone, the company said. A spokesman for Amazon Inc. said on Saturday that the online shopping megacompany will not launch a smartphone in 2013. Not only that, but despite recent rumors, if Amazon were to launch a smartphone, or a “Kindle phone” in the future, it will not be free. The spokesperson declined to comment further, but it’s an interesting development considering the long running rumors suggesting an Amazon smartphone was coming. As the rumors kept on piling up recently, I guess Amazon decided it was appropriate to let the public know what was actually going on.
