Just last week, an unofficial version of Blackberry Messenger a.k.a BBM was leaked but the bad news was no one could use it. Then we recently learned that BBM will land on Android on September 21 but its delayed and the Official Blackberry Blog is telling us why. Although, they were shocked that in the first 8 hours, there were more than 1.1 million active users, and that’s without even launching the official Android app – so that’s a crazy response. But it ”caused issues,” which the company continued to address throughout the day.
The unofficial version is now disabled, and they also said that “as soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android”.
Blackberry is going through a hard time right now, and I think it will be few more weeks till we see the official version of BBM. Anyway, are you really looking forward to it? Or you are happy with the alternatives i.e Whatsapp, Viber etc? Tell us about it in the comment box below.
