The HTC One may soon get a bump in processor and memory, if a newly leaked screen shot is to be believed. Reportedly, the image you see here shows the HTC One as having an octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. Both specs would be a first for the hardware maker. Other rumored details are alleged to include Gorilla Glass 3 for the display as well as a feature known as “Clear Audio”.
Assuming this is true, we might not look for a super-powerful CPU; MediaTek is the only company outside of Samsung to announce an octa-core processor. Based on ARM's Cortex-A7 design it actually performs lower than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 in the current model.
As much as we like the idea of a refreshed HTC One, we get the sense that it’s not enough to turn this ship around in the ocean. It’s going to take a little more than hardware tweaks to get people buying HTC devices as in days gone by.
