Google Glass might not be ready for its full commercial launch just yet, but it is taking baby steps forward. Not only has Google given Glass Explorers the opportunity to invite some of their friends to buy the headset, the upcoming XE10 update will even bring support for third-party apps – which is an important move to say the least.
Google Glass is shaping up to be pretty awesome, but how do you really know if it's right for you? Reading about it is a start, but ultimately consumers need a way to try it out before buying. Our own Nate Swanner had such an opportunity back at Google I/O, and now it could be your turn.
On Thursday, the Google Glass Team formally announced plans to bring their wearable computer on a U.S. city tour, starting with Durham, NC on the 5th of October. To get in on the Durham event, Google invites folks to RSVP. The event takes place from 10am – 6pm, and is probably divided up into several shorter sessions, though we really don't know for sure. Aside from time, date and location, Google is pretty short on details at the moment.
To sign up or learn more, you'll want to head over to the Google Durham event page. For those that aren’t able to make it to the Durham event, Google promises that there are several other cities on the docket.
Google has yet to reveal which cities, when or even how long this tour will go on, but we'll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more. As always, stay tuned to Android Authority!
