Acer recently launched the C720 Chromebook for $249 and the device has been receiving generally positive reviews. Even at that low price point, Acer has decided to try to reach an audience with even tighter wallets by releasing the C720-2848 version. The only difference Acer has implemented is a reduction in the amount of RAM, dropping it from 4GB down to only 2GB. In conjunction with that, the new device only costs $199.
The Acer C720-2848 features an 11.6-inch screen running at 1366×768 resolution, an Intel Haswell Celeron processor, 16GB of flash storage, and the aforementioned 2GB of RAM. Performance-wise, this means users may not want to keep quite so many tabs or apps running at any given time. According to Acer, the new Chromebook is available from Amazon and Best Buy starting today.
