Can’t anyone keep a secret anymore? The updated Nexus 7 has already appeared on camera, but the press shots without all the reality of finger prints and real lighting can be fun to take a look at.
Best Buy is also contributing to the cause with their leaked flyer below. The slight price bump to $229 for the 16GB model is reaffirmed. The flyer also places the arrival of the new Nexus 7 as Tuesday, July 30th which would be a day ahead of most previous rumors.
Much like the Moto X this is more confirmation rather than revelations since we have seen full spec lists from a variety of sources. Here’s the full breakdown of what we have heard (italics indicates less certainty):
- 1.5 GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 600)
- 7-inch screen at 1920 x 1200
- 4GB of RAM
- 5MP rear and 1.2MP front-facing camera
- 16 or 32 GB of storage
- 4000 mAh battery
- 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC
- Wireless charging
- Notification light
- Slim port for 1080p video output
- Android 4.3
It would have been nice to see Google stick to the sub-$200 price point for the Nexus 7, however considering the spec sheet on this revised Nexus 7 it is actually a bit surprising that they are managing to hit $229. Safe bet we’ll be hearing more about the new Nexus 7 from Google this week so all will be revealed soon.
So assuming you don’t win yourself a current Nexus 7 in our contest who is going to be picking up the new Nexus 7 at the end of the month?
