It seems that all good things must come to an end, ladies and gentlemen.
The absurdly priced $199.99 8GB Nexus 4 has just sold out on the Google Play store. At $199, it’s quite easy to see why.
Google confirmed with The Verge that the 8GB version will not be restocked. And , for those of you that are on the market for a new device, the 16GB Nexus 4 still remains the most compelling, especially considering it is still priced at $249.
The Nexus 4 was originally announced 11 months ago in October, so perhaps the time is nigh for the next iteration of the Nexus family. The key question that remains now is this – what manufacturer close to Google will be in a position to offer a similarly priced, expediently updated Android device like the Nexus 4 in the near future? Can our hopes for a comparably priced Nexus 5 with an upgraded set of hardware be on the horizon?
