In addition to the HTC Desire 601 mid-ranged handset, HTC has also unveiled a new entry-level Android smartphone, the HTC Desire 300.

Described as a "personal and powerful entry-level smartphone," here's what you can expect from the HTC Desire 300 when it comes to specs and features:

- 4.3-inch WVGA display (800 x 480 resolution)
- 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 4GB of storage (1.4GB available to the user)

- 5-megapixel camera with f2.8 aperture, 34mm lens and WVGA recording
- VGA front facing camera
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- GPS, AGPS
- 1650mAh removable battery
- Android with HTC Sense on top (with BlinkFeed)
Release date and pricing
Just like the Desire 601, the Desire 300 will hit stores starting with October 2013, although it doesn't have an actual launch date. Pricing details aren't available for the handset at this time, although we expect it to be an affordable device, especially when purchased on-contract.
While HTC mentioned that the Desire 601 will launch in EMEA markets starting with October, it's not yet clear whether the Desire 300 will be available in the same markets.
