That 12 inch Galaxy Note tablet showed up just before the Note announcements at IFA, but we didn’t see an announcement alongside the Note 3 and Note 10.1, and, honestly, I think many of us had forgotten about it afterwards. It looks like the massive 12.2 inch tablet is persistent, though, as it recently appeared in a Bluetooth SIG filing under the model number SM-P901, as seen above.
Now, this filing doesn’t necessarily confirm the device, since it could technically still just be a device that Samsung is toying with and may not widely release. But considering this filing does give some weight to the rumors that suggest it’ll use the same 2560 x 1600 display that the Note 10.1 uses, it might be something Samsung is readying for a massive holiday launch. The filing also shows Android 4.2 on board, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. (obviously.)
We still don’t know when Samsung plans on announcing this device, but we’ll be sure to keep you filled in on anything we hear.
