Apple has already adopted it, and Motorola is now all in, so why not Google? It appears Google is going to adopt the nano SIM size for the Nexus 5. A Ukrainian carrier called life :) states on their disclaimer page, “Planning to buy iPhone 5S, iPhone 5c, Nexus 5 or smartphone with Android 4.4? Choose nano-sim from life :)” Now I have no idea why they would say “or smartphone with Android 4.4“ because that implies that Android 4.4 would require a device with a nano-SIM slot. I don’t have to tell you how ridiculous that would be.
Now just because life :) says the Nexus 5 is going to need a nano SIM doesn’t mean for sure that’s the case, but if I was a betting man, I would put my money on it. Motorola is a Google company and has adopted it with the new DROID line as well as the Moto X, so it doesn’t seem all that far-fetched that Google would adopt it as well. Besides, it will make it that much easier for me to move my nano SIM from my Moto X to my Nexus 5 and vice versa without having to stop at the carrier store.
