The Nexus 5 may sell for $349 whenever it eventually goes on sale, according to a Google slip-up. The unannounced flagship smartphone experience quietly slipped onto the Google Play Store last night before slinking off into the dark. This was, of course, before fast-fingered readers snapped the picture and description.
“Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways. Starting at $349.”
Assuming this is the actual price it’s a pretty impressive sticker for an unlocked contract-free smartphone, especially with its LTE connectivity.
With no clear indication as to when Google plans to introduce the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat features we might be anywhere from a few minutes to a few days away.
For what it’s worth, the URL is still somewhat operational; however, it does result in the general device listing. Replace any character you want in the address bar, though, and it results in a 404 page. It’s still live… but with different (placeholder) details.
