In addition to launching its Windows 8.1 desktop OS update, Microsoft on Thursday also released a new Android application, a remote desktop app for Android devices.
The Microsoft Remote Desktop app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, and, as expected, it will help you remotely access your Window 8 computer.
Here are the features you can expect from the application:
- Access to remote resources through your Remote Desktop Gateway
- Rich multi-touch experience with remote desktop protocol (RDP) and RemoteFX supporting Windows gestures
- Secure connection to your data and applications with breakthrough Network Layer Authentication (NLA) technology
- Simple management of all remote connections from the connection center
- High quality video and sound streaming with improved compression and bandwidth usage
The app can be downloaded free of charge, needs just 4.4MB of storage and requires devices running Android 2.2 Froyo or later.
Have you tried Microsoft Remote Desktop yet? What are your thoughts on it?
