LG Optimus G2 may have a 5.5-inch, 1080p display

Posted: 10 Dec 2012 11:26 AM PST

If you’re a fan of awesome quality screens (which is a bit like saying “if you’re a fan of oxygen”), then you’ll love this next churn-out from the rumor mill. LG is said to be putting a 5.5-inch 1080p display on the Optimus G2. According to a Korean publication, the screen will have a 1920×1080 (that’s full-fledged HD, folks) resolution.

The G2, the next in the Optimus G line (Optimus G shown above), should also be coming with Android Key Lime Pie (also a speculation at this point), which we’re expecting to be Android 5.0, LTE, a 2GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Prime CPU, and a rather high-end camera to boot.

Verizon may soon be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Posted: 10 Dec 2012 11:00 AM PST

It’s looking like we’ll soon be seeing a new tablet hit Verizon shelves: the Galaxy Note 10.1. Samsung’s typical Note 10.1 lineup would be at play here (from what we can see), as the Wi-Fi Alliance website is showing the SCH-i925 to receive dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n certification. The tablet should also be coming with LTE, plus global 3G / GSM.

While this is all speculation at this point, the evidence is pretty strong that Big Red is looking at carrying this big Note 10.1. The carrier already offers the Galaxy Note 11 for $299.99, and also has different tablet options with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7.0, Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the OG 7″ Galaxy Tab.

Pantech rumored with 1080p HD display for Vega IM-A860

Posted: 10 Dec 2012 07:54 AM PST

Not to be left behind in the dust of LG, Samsung, Sony, and other mobile players, Pantech is the latest name tied to rumors of a 1080p HD display for a future device. A new Pantech Vega IM-A860 has been spotted in the GLBenchmark database which looks to feature the increasingly popular 1920×1080 pixel screen.

Additional details are shown to include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 GPU, and 4G LTE support. We expect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at the very least for this device and also anticipate the memory, storage, and camera to be on par with today’s high-end Androids. That is, of course, provided Pantech wants to keep pace.
