google-tv-2-0
Google has posted a rather short and sweet message on Facebook page yesterday, hinting that they would have some big Google TV announcements on Monday. Google’s use of the plural “announcements” suggests Google has a few surprises for us up its sleeves.
While we likely won’t see a major platform refresh, as Google only recently updated the Sony Google TV and Logitech Revue to Android 3.2 Honeycomb, chances are we’ll see Google release some details as to the mysterious Android Hub, Google’s rumored foray into the home entertainment scene. Another possible, but less likely scenario is that we could see Google take the wraps off the Personal Communications Device that passed through the FCC a few days ago.
Regardless of what Google unveils tomorrow, we’re excited to see what comes next out of Google’s TV operation. With Eric Schmidt suggesting that Google TV would proliferate the market by the middle of 2012, they must have something pretty impressive coming out of the TV business line.
We’ll bring you updates from Mountain View tomorrow as we learn more. What do you think Google will be announcing?

SNL parody of Verizon 4G LTE ad
Sure, we tech loving folk live in a world comprised largely of acronyms, and we don’t bat an eye at a commercial touting 4G LTE. But what does that look or sound like to the average buyer? SNL took it upon themselves to give us a glimpse into just that in this mock Verizon 4G LTE ad.
They did appear to do at least some of their homework (if watching some commercials can count as homework) on this one, as they hit a number of real points Verizon uses in their commercials and in the store.
Before anyone freaks out, I don’t think we should be inferring from this that a 4G version of the LG Vortex is coming. And I don’t think Motorola has any plans to change from the “normal” spelling of Droid Xyboard.
I won’t spoil it any further for you, but you can call out any favorite moments or let us know how you would improve the sketch in the comments below.

With the expected unveiling of the HTC Endeavor (formerly known as Edge) only two weeks away, we’re not surprised to see the first leaked RUU for the phone. The kind people over at XDA-Developers have already extracted the build.prop file from the RUU, confirming the Endeavor name and a lot of the specs which have only been rumors until now.
The build.prop file doesn’t give us all the details, but it confirms DropBox integration, HTC Sense 4.0, Skydrive (isn’t that Microsoft’s cloud storage solution?), 900,1800,1900,850 MHz bands (compatible with European and AT&T 3G networks), a Tegra chip, WiFi a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 4.7-inch 720p display, 8 MP main camera and a 1.3 MP front camera. While we expect the HTC Endeavor to make its way around the globe, the build.prop on this test RUU clearly states that this handset is an HTC Europe device. The Endeavor will most likely take on another name for the US market.
Fortunately, leaked RUU files are good for a lot more than just confirming things we already knew. The devs are already tearing the RUU apart in an effort to port the Android 4.0 build with Sense 4.0 to older HTC devices. Since the Endeavor is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip and also features a 720p resolution, developers are going to have their work cut out for them in order for get things running properly on Qualcomm powered devices with lower resolution displays. We’re not sure how long it will take, but we could see the first ports up and running even before HTC officially pulls back the curtain on February 26 to unveil the HTC Endeavor to the world.
Are any of you looking forward to running Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0 on your current HTC device?
UPDATE: The HTC Endeavor system image has been dumped, revealing all the device applications, widgets, wallpapers and screenshots from some of the HTC Sense 4.0 skins pre-loaded on the device. We’ve uploaded all the images at full resolution just in case any of you wanted to grab a wallpaper or two to use on your phone. Enjoy!
