Upon downloading or updating some apps, users are being bombarded with a “Package file is invalid” error. The funny thing about this is that it really doesn’t matter which app you are downloading or updating, it seems to just happen at random. Most are more akin to feature phones, barely able to access the internet. But it looks like Samsung wants flip phones to make a comeback, at least in China. They have announced the Samsung Hennessy, an Android-powered flip phone with dual displays running 4.1 Jelly Bean. On the front, you see one of its two 3.3-inch 320 x 480 displays with three capacitive buttons at the bottom. In this mode, it acts like a normal smartphone. Flipped open, it has another identical display and a large keypad at the bottom. It looks very retro and very much like an old school flip phone with a smartphone twist. The specs, as you can probably expect, aren’t very impressive. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core paired with 1GB of RAM, and it has a 5MP camera, 1,500 mAh battery, microSD slot and the various wireless connections of modern devices. It also has dual GSM/CDMA radios, so the device can be used on any China carrier. We probably won’t see this device stateside, and it may never even come out of Asia. I’m not sure if we’re missing much, but it would be cool to at least spend a few days with it. What do you think of the Samsung Hennessy? Is it a useful device or a pointless retro design? CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies now available, bring Android 4.3 goodness Aug 14th 2013, 18:04, by Dima Aryeh Android 4.3 has been out for a good while for Nexus and Google Play edition devices, and it seems that people have been enjoying the new features and massive fixes for the bugs Android 4.2 introduced. Per the usual, ROMs have been flying around based on 4.3. But what about the most popular ROM in the world? CyanogenMod likes to wait a while before releasing nightlies. They have a lot of devices to maintain, and they like to get the important ones working well and release them all at once. Luckily, the nightlies are really not very late at all. They are now available to download for a multitude of devices. If you want to grab them, hit the source link! Keep in mind that these are nightlies. Not only are they cutting edge builds, they’re builds of brand new software. It’s quite possible that they’ll have quite a few bugs. Flash these at your own risk, but don’t forget to enjoy and tell us how the ROM runs. It’s always exciting to see a new ROM come out, and I for one can’t wait to flash it.
