Over the years, Gameloft has really associated itself as the top-of-the-line gaming developer company for mobile devices, as it puts out one hit after the next, successfully showing how mobile gaming has become very similar in quality to console gaming. Since the company’s Facebook page launched in 2009, it has reached 10 million ‘likes,’ and they’re looking to celebrate by giving away some free stuff!

Check out their Facebook page in the source link below where they’re hosting some activities, as well as the ability to make your own infographic.

Updated Nexus 7 to be priced at $229/16GB and $269/32GB according to leak

nexus-7-updated-price-leak

Last month we told you that the updated Nexus 7 was going to be priced at $229 for the 16GB version, and it has been confirmed by this latest inventory system leak. The 32GB version will come in at $269. Considering the rumored specs, the pricing doesn’t seem all that bad, but I am still shocked there is going to be a price increase. Even when specs improve, you rarely see a price increase in mobile due to constant pricing pressure from the competition. I still don’t believe it, but it’s hard to argue when it’s written in black and white.

How to enable, move, hide, and edit the Multi Window app tray on the Galaxy S 4

Samsung quickly changed the way we multitask and use apps with its implementation of the Multi Window. This feature allows Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note, and Galaxy S III users to use two apps simultaneously. You can check your Gmail while watching videos on YouTube or look up a map while talking to someone in Hangouts without having to switch to the app completely.

Samsung created a Multi-Window tray with Android 4.2.2 that makes it easy to open apps into Multi Window. It can be placed on either the left or right side of your home screen and you have complete control of what apps show in it. Of course if you don’t have Multi Window enabled, you may not even know it exists. Hit the break to find out how to enable, hide, move, and edit the Multi Window tray.

Enabling Multi Window

1) Open the Quick Panel by swiping two fingers from the top of the screen towards the bottom

2) Make sure Multi Window is selected

3) You should see a tabbed icon at either the left middle or right middle of your home screen. If you don’t, long press on the back key and it will become visible.

Hiding the Multi Window tab

You might find that you don’t use the Multi Window tray a lot, but you also don’t want to disable it. You can simply hide the tabbed icon by long pressing on the back key. When you are ready to open the Multi Window tray again, just long press on the back key again.

Moving the Multi Window tray

1) Open the tray by tapping on the tabbed icon

2) Press and hold onto the tabbed part of the tray.

3) Drag the tray over to the opposite side and release

Editing the applications that show in Multi Window the tray

1) While the tray is open, tap on the Edit icon at the bottom

To the right are apps that you can add to the tray. Just drag them to the tray. If you want to remove any apps out of the tray, just drag them out. You can also change the order of the apps within the tray by simply dragging and dropping.

Google 'breakfast' with Sundar Pichai scheduled for July 24, likely to hear some Android news
Jul 17th 2013, 18:13, by Harrison Kaminsky

Google_Breakfast

Google’s head of both Android and Chrome, Sundar Pichai, will be leading a ‘breakfast’ event by Google next Wednesday, where some Android announcements are expected to come.

We didn’t see an Android 4.3 announcement at Google I/O in May, so perhaps we will this time, as its release seems more and more imminent every day. A Nexus 7 successor is also possible. We could also see something on the uber-hyped Moto X, however it is unlikely. (August is getting closer and closer, though.)

Don’t worry if you don’t have an invitation though, because the entire event will be live-streamed on Google’s website. We’ll give you guys the link when we have more details.

US Cellular to once again require contracts for existing customer upgrades
Jul 17th 2013, 18:01, by Casey Rendon

US Cellular

Carrier changes its 'Belief' system in favor of contracts and restocking fees starting this month

Back in 2010, U.S. Cellular surprised many of us by announcing 'The Belief Project' -- a new, novel policy that gave existing customers increased freedom by no longer requiring that they sign a contract for phone upgrades. Only an initial contract was required to be signed by new customers; after that, subscribers could upgrade contract-free indefinitely. At the time, this was unheard of as far as the 'Big Four' carriers were concerned.

Ironically, as other carriers begin to move away from subscriber contracts, U.S. Cellular has decided that contracts are the best way "to invest in improving our customer experience." Beginning later this month, any existing U.S. Cellular customers who use an available upgrade to purchase a subsidized device will be required to sign a 2-year service contract. Also changing is the '15-Day Excellence Guarantee' policy, with customers now being charged a $35 restocking fee when a device is returned within the initial 15 day period.

How do U.S. Cellular customers feel about these new (or old, depending on how you look at it) changes? Sound off in the comments.

Android World Update # Rogers Wireless 2-year contract details coming soon, indicates leaked document

Rogers Wireless 2-year contract details coming soon, indicates leaked document
Jul 17th 2013, 17:28, by Andrew Grush

rogers_wireless

Early last month the CRTC announced a new wireless code in Canada that introduced several welcome changes to cellular industry, including lowering the max contract term down to just two years.

While the code doesn't go into affect until December 2nd, several Canadian carriers have already moved forward with the change to two-year plans. Bell started offering two-year contracts earlier today, and TELUS is following suite on July 30th.

What about the biggest cell provider in Canada, Rogers? While Rogers Wireless have yet to reveal any details about the change to two year contracts, MobileSyrup has managed to get their hands on a newly leaked document that acknowledges a change in terms is coming soon.

According to the leaked Rogers document:

The new Wireless Code impacts all carriers who have wireless contracts longer than 2 years. As such, we will be introducing new two-year contract and will share more details shortly. At Rogers, we are working hard to implement the Code and to make positive changes that will benefit our customers. Please stay tuned for more details, which will be provided shortly.

So when exactly is ‘shortly’? That's hard to say. It could be within a few weeks, or they could wait as close to the December 2nd deadline as possible.

Regardless of when the changes are officially announced, it is great to finally see Canadian wireless carriers drop their antiquated 3-year contract policy. Now here’s to hoping that customers in Canada don’t end up paying significantly more for their phones or plan pricing as a result of this change.

Android World Update # Purported Galaxy Note 3 sketches, specs, and new AnTuTu benchmark revealed

Purported Galaxy Note 3 sketches, specs, and new AnTuTu benchmark revealed
Jul 17th 2013, 17:31, by Chris Smith

Samsung Galaxy

A couple of Galaxy Note 3 sketches reportedly coming from the handset's user manual have hit the web revealing some of the device's specs, while a new purported AnTuTu benchmark result for the handset has also surfaced.

Dutch publication Sim Only Radar has received the images below from a tipster who said they originate from the official Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) manual.

One of the images contains a list of specs for the handset, which mentions the following:

  • 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display
  • 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor / Exynosy 5 Octa processor
  • 13-megapixel with auto-focus, 1080p video recording and Xenon Flash
  • AGPS
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • USB, USB OTG support
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/a
  • Android Jelly Bean (unspecified version)

If the sketches are real, the Galaxy Note 3 could feature a dedicated camera button – some rumors claimed that the phone will come with advanced camera functions such as optical image stabilization. Otherwise, the device shown in these images seems to be similar to the Galaxy S4 when it comes to overall design.

Additionally, Android Spin has apparently found a new AnTuTu benchmark result for the SM-N900. According to the image below, an SM-N900 handset powered by a 1.9GHz processor (could be an Exynos 5 Octa chip) and running Android 4.2.2 scored 33082 in the benchmark test.

A previous purported AnTuTu benchmark of the Galaxy Note 3 showed a score of almost 28000 for the device – at the time however, the device had a different model number (GT-N7200) and packed a 1.6GHz CPH and ran Android 4.3, according to that particular rumor.

Naturally, we'll label today's Galaxy Note 3 news as just unconfirmed rumors at this point, as such images and benchmarks can always be doctored, so make sure you take them with the appropriate amount of salt. We'll be back with more details about the handset once we have them.

Thanks, Josh!
