Last week we told you about ActiveNotifications, which brings the Moto X Active Display to other phones. It was created by XDA developer niko001, and is pretty slick. However, it was only compatible with Android 4.3, since this latest version includes a “Notification Listener.” The other issue was that it only worked on AMOLED displays.

Good news!! The app as just been updated and it now supports 4.1.2+ devices as well as non-AMOLED displays. This is still very experimental so don’t expect everything to go smoothly. Devices that don’t have AMOLED displays could suffer the biggest issues, which include faster battery drain. The Moto X Active Display uses minimal power from its AMOLED screen.

I should also mention that niko001 has an Alpha build that can run on Android 4.0+ devices. Hit the break for all download links.
