Straight Talk not enforcing a 1.5GB data cutoff

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 10:58 AM PDT

Despite some recent rumors, those using Straight Talk do not have to worry about having their data access turned off at 1.5GB. Straight Talk seems to be attacking these rumors head on and have recently stated rather simply that they “are not cutting off data at 1.5GB on Straight Talk.” The key here sounds like it is in the name though.

straight-talk-logo-540

You see, Straight Talk does have a sister brand and there is a data limit. The sister brand is NET10 and the limit applies to those using the Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) AT&T-compatible SIM option. And yes, the limit for that particular SIM on NET10 is indeed 1.5GB. That aside, the folks at Straight Talk also mention that “most” of their customers are able to use their unlimited data plans with “no issues or complaints regarding their data speeds or service.” Of course, that is not to say you cannot have your Straight Talk data throttled. There is where the catch seems to be as Straight Talk has yet to offer a specific level where they may begin throttling your speeds.

In terms of having your data cut-off, that is possible but that seems something those abusing the terms and conditions should worry about. To address this, Straight Talk points towards their terms and conditions which note some things that cannot be done. For example, Straight Talk users cannot use any applications that tether your device to a laptop or personal computer other than for the use of Wireless Sync.

For those not as familiar with Straight Talk, they provide an option for those who already have a phone in-hand. Not to mention, an option for say, someone planning to purchase a Nexus 4 from the Google Play Store. The service is priced at $45 per month and offers unlimited voice, messaging and data.

Imgur photo hosting app arrives for Android

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 10:29 AM PDT

The most popular photo hosting site that is probably everyone’s favorite has finally arrived for Android. While there’s no shortage of Imgur apps in the Google Play Store, today they’ve released their very own official app for Android. It’s a limited beta for now, and appears to only work in Australia, but we can expect it to be available for all soon.

imgur

Get ready to host those viral photos, make galleries of cute kittens and more to share with Reddit, or any other site for that matter. After using 3rd party apps that struggled for far too long, Imgur has their very own official app for Android. It’s about time they release their own!

Screen Shot 2013-04-09 at 9.33.57 AM

It isn’t just about uploading and hosting photos either, as Imgur has one of the largest communities on the web that are amazingly quick to post photos of anything and everything. Something in the news or a crazy event happened in Sports, most likely Imgur already has a better image uploaded from the community. So here’s the features for those also viewing Imgur and not uploading photos.

• Browse the most viral images on the Internet
• Comment and vote on images
• Upload straight from your phone
• Manage your account
• Submit images directly to the Imgur gallery

Everything that is offered on their site is now readily available for your Android smartphone and tablet. For now the limited beta is only in Australia, but hopefully it will be released for the mass public in a matter of a few days. I know a few million Reddit users that will be extremely excited to see this. So, head to the Play Store to get it and we’ll update once it launching for all.

Bitdefender releases Antivirus Free for Android

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 10:12 AM PDT

If you are looking to keep your Android device free of malware and hoping to do so without spending any money, you now have another option to consider. The folks at Bitdefender have recently announced Antivirus Free for Android. The app is available by way of the Google Play Store and as the name suggests — it can be downloaded and used for free.

bitdefender-android-540

The Bitdefender app touts itself as being able to offer malware protection, cloud scanning and as having a low impact on battery life. Perhaps a bit nicer for the average user, the Bitdefender app is ready to go upon installation. In other words, there is nothing to set up or configure — you simply download, install it and the app is ready to offer protection.

Some of the features include being able to scan apps on-demand and also have the app scan apps automatically upon installation. Part of the low battery impact comes in regards to the cloud. The Bitdefender app offers cloud-based threat detection and also doesn’t need to install any virus signatures directly on the device.

Of course, as we would suspect with any type of antivirus app announcement, Bitdefender has opted to include some stats that may make you want to have some added protection. In this case, they have said that “Android malware increased by 27 percent in the last six months alone” and that the more common types include premium rate number dialing, password theft and general device monitoring.

Paper Toss 2.0 for Android hits the Play Store

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 10:10 AM PDT

Oh snap! The classic and original Paper Toss game that took way too many hours of my time has been replaced. The popular developers from Backflip Studios have announced an all-new more fun, exciting, and better Paper Toss 2.0 for Android. It’s been available for a few days in the Play Store, and somehow we missed it but check it out below.

paper2-android

This was one of my favorite games back in the day on my trusty HTC Nexus One. From flashing CM6 ROMs to flinging garbage in Paper Toss. It doesn’t get much better than that. If you’re looking to waste some time on that flight, train ride, or sitting at the Subway get the all new Paper Toss 2.0 today and give it a whirl.

The developers state everything has been improved, but it still looks pretty mediocre in terms of the usual cartoon graphics. This time we won’t just be tossing paper either. They have bananas, grenades, and tons of other tossables. The game has a better physics engine too and we can now make bank shots, hit moving targets and much more. It’s safe to say this will be twice the time-killing fun.

They’ve integrated leaderboards, made things destructible around the office and in cubicles as you aim for the garbage, and even have power-ups to help boost your score. If you’re a fan of the original Paper Toss or are looking for a new fun game to waste some time give this a try from the link below. Get some!

Google Play Store version 4.0 available now [Download]

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 09:49 AM PDT

The all-new redesigned and improved Google Play Store version 4.0 for Android that we’ve been seeing leaks of the past few weeks is finally official. This morning Google confirmed the new design themselves, and now we have what you all want. And that is the new Play Store available for download. Check out what’s new below, then hit the download link.

Screen Shot 2013-04-09 at 9.49.21 AM

We first saw the redesigned Google Play Store about 2 weeks ago in a leaked file and a few screenshots, but since then they’ve polished everything up and we’re excited to be getting a brand new Play Store design. This is the first major overhaul since July of last year along with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so a change was just about due.

As we detailed earlier today the all-new Play Store 4.0 is all about a focusing on a simplistic and elegant design. Everything is cleaner, crisp, and polished. Google‘s focused on bigger images everywhere, card style layouts similar to Google Now, and of course recommendations. It’s all about grouping similar content and suggestions together. All at a faster speed than ever before.

The update is for Android 2.2 and above devices and should arrive over the next few weeks. However, we have the file available for you below in all its glory. The process is fairly simple. Just download the latest version linked to below and install right over the previous Play Store. That’s it! Then enjoy this elegant new design and let us know what you think. We’ll update when we find what’s new.

Disney’s Wreck It Ralph and other games now free in the Google Play Store

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 09:19 AM PDT

While this may not be quite as exciting as the update to the actual Google Play Store, it seems Disney has recently lowered the price of four games. Or more to the point, Disney has made four games available for free. None of these games were what we would consider high-priced before, however we suppose free may be nicer than paid.

wreck-it-ralph

Regardless, the four games that are now free include Wreck It Ralph and Temple Run: Brave as well as Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry. The good news here, as per the Google Play Store requirements, these apps will now remain free moving forward as once a paid app goes free, the price cannot be increased again.

With that, those who have yet to pick up any or all of these games may want to start downloading. Some of these games may be obvious in what they are, after all, Temple Run has been rather popular. In this case, we suspect some may have avoided Temple Run: Brave given it was previously available only as a paid app. That being the case, now is your chance to play.

Otherwise, Wreck It Ralph is based on the movie and brings three games — Fix-It Felix Jr, Hero’s Duty and Sweet Climber. The remaining two games, Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry are puzzle style games with the former having more than 400 puzzles and the latter having more than 140 puzzles. Bottom line here, Disney has made some quality games available for free and you can download any or all using the following links.

EE 4G network speed and capacity will soon be doubled

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 08:34 AM PDT

EE, who happen to be the first (and only) carrier in the UK to offer 4G have recently announced some upgrade plans. The carrier has said they plan to double the speed and capacity of their 4G network. We have yet to see a specific date as to when this will be going live, however those increased speeds should begin arriving during the summer months.

4gee-540

Basically, this means some EE 4G customers could be seeing ‘headline’ speeds upwards of 80Mbps. More realistic though, there was also the mention of this doubling the current average speed to 20Mbps for new and existing subscribers. The double speed upgrades will be coming to ten cities initially. These include Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Sheffield.

Shifting over to the expansion of the network and EE is talking about future-proofing. In this case they are looking to target more than one million 4G users by Christmas and “stay one step ahead and always offer the fastest network in the UK.” They also plan to have the network traffic increase by 750 percent over the next three years time.

This simply means users in those ten cities will soon be enjoying some increased speeds. And in a simpler form, that means those users will be able to download, surf and stream content that much faster than before. EE originally launched their 4G network in October 2012 and as of this coming June, they plan to have coverage available in 80 towns and cities with coverage for roughly 55 percent of the UK. They also hope to have 98 percent of the population covered by years end 2014.

Google Play Store update detailed, shows focus on simplicity

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 08:24 AM PDT

We had been expecting Google to roll-out an updated version of the Google Play Store. And well, that has since been done. Or more specifically, Google has detailed the update and announced that the roll-out will begin today. This update will be coming for those running Android 2.2 or later and it will be available on smartphones as well as tablets.

Play Books Home - Tablet

The complete roll-out is expected to take a “few weeks.” With that in mind, lets discuss the changes you can expect to see once the update arrives on your device. Google has said the focus was on simplicity and notes that users can expect a look that is simple and clean and at the same time — “helps you find great entertainment, fast.”

Some of the changes that you may notice will include larger images as well as similarly themed content being grouped together. Recommendations will continue to appear and the checkout process is said to have been simplified in an effort to help you “breeze through checkout and get to enjoying your movie rental or other content.”

We have been given a brief look (above and in the gallery below) at what we can expect in terms of the new style, however this update has yet to land on any of our devices. Basically, like anything else, this change will probably seem a bit startling at first, however we are going to reserve judgment until we are able to get some hands-on time.

Boingo subscribers given access to AT&T WiFi hotspot locations

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 07:29 AM PDT

Boingo and AT&T have announced their latest partnership offering. And nicely done, this one brings good news for current Boingo customers as well as select AT&T customers. Simply put, Boingo subscribers and those select AT&T subscribers will each have additional WiFi hotspot locations they can use while out and about or while traveling.

boingo-logo-540

Beginning first with what this partnership means for Boingo users. This one is simple, moving forward Boing users will be able to use any of the AT&T WiFi Hotspot locations. This includes all of the available AT&T WiFi Hotspots which can be found in locations to include restaurants, sporting arenas, retail locations and airports.

Keeping on the topic of airport WiFi and this is where the partnership flips. AT&T users will be able to get access to Boingo's global network of Wi-Fi hotspots. The one bit here is that this offer is only available to select AT&T users. The breakdown here shows the offer as being available to those who subscribe to the 300MB or 800MB AT&T Data Global Add-On package.

If you are an AT&T user with either of those plans you will then need to download the AT&T Wi-Fi International app to find and connect to the Boingo access. Those AT&T customers will also see a limit in terms of use — you will be capped at 1GB of free WiFi per month. Just as a reminder, AT&T also partnered with The Cloud back in February which gave WiFi access for those traveling in the UK.

Google Play Store app count drops by 60,000

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 07:01 AM PDT

Having more is something that is generally thought of as good thing when it comes to apps. Well, some may disagree, however given that is the stat we most often heard spoken when it comes to the success, or alternatively, the failure of a mobile platform. We also often seen praise when mobile app numbers are on the rise. Today we have some good news, but in terms of an app count dropping.

google-play-store-logo-540

It seems that the Google Play Store app count decreased by nearly 60,000 in February. Maybe Google was doing a bit of spring cleaning ahead of the version 4.0 update that is expected to arrive in the not to distant future. Speculation as to why aside though, the reasoning as to why this decrease in apps is a good thing is that they were not all that great in terms of quality.

Google has in the past been pretty good about removing apps that caused an issue. The issues that determine a removal include everything to a simple violation of the terms of service to something a bit more troublesome such as those containing malware. In this instance, it is being reported that many of the apps removed were from the MP3/ringtone category, which as one can imagine — likely has some issues with copyright.

End result here, this is one instance where less probably means better. And in the end, aside from the more involved mobile geek that enjoys keeping track of statistics in terms of the app count, we suspect this will mean very little if anything to the average user. Sure, they may have lost access to their favorite ringtone app, but there will likely be another arriving shortly. In the meantime, this seems like a good time to state the obvious — app quality should count above app quantity.

Pandora Radio mobile streaming climbs to over 140 million

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 06:25 AM PDT

Pandora Radio has announced their latest milestone. They have crossed the 200 million mark in terms of registered users. Or perhaps a little closer to the mobile side of the house, Pandora Radio now has more than 140 million listeners that have tuned in on a mobile device. That seems to say something about the simplicity and ease of use that comes with Pandora. Of course, the quality doesn’t hurt either.

pandora-540

Touching back on that 200 million mark. Further details on this show that Pandora had their first user register in the summer of 2005. They then crossed the 100 million user mark in July 2011. In that respect things are looking good, it took from 2005 to 2011 to get 100 million users and then well under 2 years to get the next 100 million.

Some additional Pandora Radio stats include how the service now streams more than 200 million songs before 10am every day, how listeners have given more than 25 billion thumbs and that last month, Pandora streamed more than 100,000 unique artists and more than 1 million unique songs.

Otherwise, while this latest bit of Pandora related news was purely focused on statistics, the Android app was updated not all that long ago. In fact, the last Android app update arrived at the beginning of this month. That update took care of some bugs and also reduced the startup time. It also aded lock screen controls and an elapsed and remaining timestamps for the track progress indicator. So, how many of you are Pandora listeners?

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 hits shelves April 11 for $399 in the US

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 06:01 AM PDT

After launching in the UK earlier this month, today Samsung Electronics has confirmed their exciting new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet will be available throughout the USA starting at just $399 on April 11th. First revealed in Barcelona, Spain, for Mobile World Congress this 8-inch quad-core tablet is pretty impressive so read on for all the details on when and where.

sideup-540x401

Samsung unveiled the Note 8.0 in Mobile World Congress complete with full voice features built right in. Essentially being an 8-inch tablet that doubles as a smartphone should you need it. While we’re still awaiting the 3G/4G LTE voice-enabled model to hit the streets, it has cleared the FCC. However, the model hitting the streets next week will be WiFi only.

In case you missed our Galaxy Note 8.0 hands-on, here’s all the details. This slate rocks an 8-inch screen with a 1280 x 800 resolution HD display, and runs with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Then under the hood is a 1.6 GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, and it sports a pair of cameras too. The star of the show however, is the WACOM digitizer screen and S-Pen stylus for true content creation and consumption. Check it out:

The Galaxy Note 8 is essentially their answer to the Nexus 7 and iPad mini, but we’ll reserve judgement until we get one in for a full Android Community review. It sports a 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 front for video chat, and a decently sized 4,600 mAh battery so you should be enjoying the slate for hours on end. Today Samsung confirmed it will be available online and in stores throughout the US for $399 for the 16GB model, so if you’re interested I’d be running down to Best Buy to give it a spin. Stay tuned for a full review coming quick!

Sony Xperia ZL smartphone coming to Cincinnati Bell first in the US

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 05:44 AM PDT

We already know almost all of the features for Sony’s new Xperia ZL smartphone. The device has been available for US customers to order for a while now via the Sony Store. The problem with ordering that device directly through Sony was that the a price was over $759.

sony-xperia-zl-540

The upside to that high retail price was that the device was unlocked so you can carry it to any mobile network that supported the smartphone. Most consumers tend to purchase smartphones on a subsidized basis with a wireless carrier. If you’ve been waiting to see which wireless carrier in the US would begin offering the Xperia ZL, a carrier has finally surfaced and it’s not one of the usual suspects.

The first carrier in the United States to offer the Xperia ZL will be Cincinnati Bell. The device will cost $249.99 after a mail-in rebate and signing a new two-year contract. The device will be available on the network as of May 1. The Xperia ZL is a five-inch screen phablet.

The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and it runs 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with four cores. The device also features a 13-megapixel rear camera that can record full HD resolution video and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The operating system is Android 4.1 and the device features NFC and infrared connectivity.

Antitrust claim filed in Europe against Google over Android

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 05:24 AM PDT

An official antitrust complaint has been filed against Google in Europe having to do with the Android operating system. The court complaint alleges that Google is using its mobile operating system in deceptive ways. The complaint was filed by Fairsearch Europe.

Screenshot-from-2013-04-08-224600

Fairsearch Europe is an association comprised of multiple companies including Microsoft and Nokia among others. The new antitrust complaint comes on the heels of regulators wrapping up an investigation into other areas of Google’s operation. The complaint alleges that Google is using Android to give its own apps and related services a competitive advantage.

The complaint alleges that Google gives itself this competitive advantage by forcing manufacturers to include Google apps on the home screen. Antitrust chief for the EU to Joaquin Almunia did say that regulators had been looking into Android separately from the Search issue, but didn’t offer a statement specifically on Fairsearch Europe’s allegations.

While the complaint against Android has been launched officially, the choice to pursue the complaint is up to the EU. Regulators could choose to ignore the complaint and whether or not an official investigation will begin will be announced at a later date. Google has offered no official comment on the allegations.

Twitter pushes Android app update to squash a bug

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 05:06 AM PDT

Earlier this month we talked about the new Twitter 4.0 application for Android users. That update brought with it a refreshed twitter user interface and some new features along with a native Android experience. One of the important features in the app update that proved problematic was the Me tab.

Screen-Shot-2013-04-03-at-12.24.13-PM-540x318

Not long after that update some users discovered a bug that prevented the Me tab from loading properly. Some users noticed that the Me tab never finished loading and only gave them a white screen with a spinning wheel on it. The big problem with the blog is that the Me tab is where you access all sorts of features for the Twitter application.

That tab is the location for switching accounts and other commonly used features. The good news was that you could access your profile content by searching for yourself via twitter and then tapping on your avatar to access your profile. That wasn’t exactly user-friendly though.

This week, Twitter released an update for the app that patches that Me tab problem and improves the user interface on Android honeycomb devices. The Twitter app update brings the app to version 4.0.1. If you never noticed the Me tab issue, it appeared to be limited to only a certain segment of the twitter user population. Users that were affected by the bug are reporting that the new update fixes the problem.

WhatsApp denies Google acquisition rumors

Posted: 09 Apr 2013 04:45 AM PDT

Yesterday we talked about a new rumor that was making the rounds suggesting that Google was in talks to purchase the WhatsApp Messenger service. The scuttlebutt suggested that WhatsApp might be a bit of technology Google wass eying for its long rumored unified, cross-platform messenger service dubbed Bable.

whatsapp_logo1

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard a rumor of a major company in the technology world looking to gobble up WhatsApp. In December of 2012, Facebook wais rumored to be looking to purchase WhatsApp, but that rumor never came true. WhatsApp development lead Neeraj Arora has now stepped up and said that the Google purchase rumors are untrue.

According to Arora, the rumor circulating that Google is looking to purchase WhatsApp isn’t accurate and no talks are ongoing. The developer declined any further comment on rumor. Google eying WhatsApp was an interesting development because folding users of that application into Google Babel would’ve brought along existing Android and iOS users.

WhatsApp supports text messaging, multimedia, and location sharing. Most users of the application pay a subscription fee to use it. There are some Android users in select locations that are able to use an ad supported version of the service at no charge.

ASUS MeMo Pad 7 available today for just $149

Posted: 08 Apr 2013 04:28 PM PDT

If you’ve been looking for a cheap budget Android tablet and can’t afford the Nexus 7, the folks from ASUS have confirmed this afternoon that their new 7-inch slate is available today for just $150. It’s called the MeMo Pad 7 and is essentially a Nexus 7 without the fancy HD screen or quad-core Tegra 3 processor. Then again, it’s only $149 for the 16GB model so check it out below.

asus-memo-pad-tablet-540

ASUS released a few teaser videos in February after announcing the slate back in January, but today it can finally be yours for a pretty fair price. As we mentioned above, the specs aren’t the best, but it’s pretty hard to beat for only $149 and 16GB of internal storage. Oh and it’s powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean too.

As a reminder the ASUS MeMo Pad 7 comes with a 7-inch 1026 x 600 resolution display, so not quite HD but probably looks decent given the price. Then they’ve dropped the Tegra 3 quad-core from the Nexus 7 in favor of a cheaper 1GHz single-core VIA WM8950 processor and 1GB of RAM. Certainly a few cutbacks to say the least. However, you do get a 1 megapixel front camera for video chat and they’ve also included a micro-SD slot for expandable storage.

While the specs obviously aren’t anything to write home about, it’s the price and overall package that makes it a viable option. For those that are a $50 spot shy of being able to afford Google’s own Nexus 7 made by ASUS, this model might suite your budget. More details can be found right here. It sounds decent, but who will be buying for that price? Let us know!

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 spotted at Office Depot for $399

Posted: 08 Apr 2013 02:32 PM PDT

While we’re still waiting for the folks from Samsung to officially announce their new Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet for the US, it recently was spotted at Office Depot for the somewhat high price of $399. After launching in the UK earlier this month a US release in imminent, but for now all we have are a few leaks suggesting an April release date.

sideflip

After revealing their new 8-inch tablet that also manages to double as a smartphone back at Mobile World Congress, we’ve all been waiting to get our hands on it. Samsung’s designed a decent little 8-inch slate complete with their popular S-Pen stylus and now it looks like it could be hitting the US sooner than later.

galaxy-note-8-office-depot-2

According to recent leaks Office Depot has the slate online listed as coming soon (but out of stock) with a price listed at $399 for the 16GB model. Now I don’t know about you guys, but compared to the Nexus 7 for $199 that sounds a little high. That’s just our opinion. We’ll reserve judgement until Samsung confirms the details, but this could be the final price come release date. It also resembles the high price over in the UK.

The slate does rock an 8-inch 1280 x 800 HD display and Samsung 1.6 GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, but it only runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at the moment. You can see our hands-on from the link below for a better idea of what to expect from this sleek slate, and we’ll report back when we hear anything official. If the Note 8 retails for $399 for the 16GB model will you be buying one?

Google Babel shown in leaked screenshots

Posted: 08 Apr 2013 01:56 PM PDT

The latest Google Babel related leak seems to have surfaced. This one brings quite a few images of what the service will look like and of course, follows the mention we had earlier this morning. Earlier leak aside though, this is certainly not the first mention of Babel, the one catch is that the spelling of the name seems to be changing. The service was previously listed as Babble, whereas now it is being referred to as Babel.

Forgetting about the spelling for a moment, this latest leak just seems to add a bit of further evidence to a service that is coming, but has yet to be officially announced by Google. Essentially, Google Babel is a messaging service that uses a threaded messaging style and has Google+ integration. Some of the Google+ integration looks to tie in with images. In fact, one of these screen shots notes that “photos can only be sent by Google+ accounts.”

Anyway, this latest round of leaked images come by way of techradar who note they are working with a new and yet unidentified source. Simply put, take these for what they are — leaked images of an unannounced service. Basically, that is to say that things could and likely will change before we get the official word from Google.

As these Babel related leaks continue to surface, the timing that we have seen with the WhatsApp rumor certainly does seem interesting. For those who missed that bit from earlier today, Google is said to be purchasing WhatsApp for $1 billion. We cannot say what the end result will be just yet, however we do know that Google is working on a messaging service at the moment and we hope to see something announced during Google I/O. In the meantime, check out the gallery below which contains a few additional Babel related images.

Into The Dead for Android updated – we go hands on

Posted: 08 Apr 2013 01:38 PM PDT

At the end of March an awesome and completely free game launched on Android called Into The Dead, and if you haven’t seen it you’ll want to check it out below. The extremely popular developers from PikPok Games released this endless-runner style zombie game, but it’s certainly one that’s memorable. After a quick update this weekend we figured some hands-on video was in order.

Think of something like Temple Run with all the distance goals, coins, objectives, stats and more – only with zombies. Then add in a creepy and eerie setting with shadows and zombies walking in the fog and thick grassy fields. You’re right in the middle running through the hoards trying to stay alive with maneuvers, pistols, chain saws and more. It’s extremely addictive too.

This game has an awesome soundtrack, great graphics (that can also be turned down on older devices) tons of potential for repeat play, power-ups and more. The latest update fixed some graphical issues on the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, improved general tablet support, and solved a few bugs. This then reminded us just how amazing this game was and we had to do a quick video for you all. Take a peek below.

As usual lately the game works with the freemium model. So you won’t pay a cent to enjoy it but to speed up progress or truly enjoy it you can purchase coins. There are a few non-obtrusive ads between game menus you can pay your way out of for $1.99 but they aren’t too bad. You can earn coins, or buy some to up the excitement. Buy that 50,000 coin pack and get a machine gun for some truly fun times.

In the end the game is extremely fun, addicting, plays and runs amazing on most devices, and is free. There’s some blood and gore, scary noises, and more so you might want to stick to Temple Run for the kids. For everyone else though, this game is a blast. Check out the screenshots below and try this awesome game today by clicking here!
