Update - 38

Posted: 22 Feb 2012 04:40 PM PST

T-Mobile just announced the Galaxy S Blaze 4G, and it seems they are already bringing out their next-gen devices. We've been hearing for quite some time that the HTC Ville will hit Magenta, but it was just a rumor with no grounds. The guys over at TmoNews were lucky enough to get their hands on a T-Mobile accessory sheet, which tells us about two new devices: the HTC Ville and Huawei Prism.
We're familiar with the HTC Ville, which is HTC's next super device. It's thin, packs a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch display, Beats Audio, and an 8MP camera. On the other hand is the Huawei Prism, which was previously an unknown device. A wild guess tells us that this could be the Huawei Ascend D1 Q, but we'll wait for Huawei or T-Mo to confirm it.
Unfortunately, there's no word on when T-Mobile will be launching either of these devices, but it's worth noting that in the sheet above, the HTC Ville is listed with an April 4th date, and the Prism with the date of April 16th. Those may or may not be launch dates, but we certainly hope we'll get to see the Ville at MWC next week.
Who else is pumped to get a look at the HTC Ville? What do you think the Huawei Prism might have in store? Let us know in the comments!

Last year, ViewSonic introduced a lot of decent tablets, like the ViewPad 7e, ViewPad 7X and ViewPad 730. It looks like Viewsonic is ready to rock in 2012, as our friends over at Pocket-Lint managed to get some leaked information about the ViewPad G70, ViewSonic's first ever Android 4.0-powered tablet.
The tablet itself will launch with Android 4.0, a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, a 2MP rear camera, along with a front-facing shooter, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card support, 1GB of RAM, and 3G connectivity. The ViewPad G70 will also be packing mini HDMI, microUSB, and miniUSB ports.
No word on the processor speed or brand, but we're hoping for at least a dual-core chip. Along with ICS, it will feature ViewSonic's ViewScene interface, and it's a Google-certified device, so users will get all the Google goodies they know and love, like the Android Market, Gmail, and YouTube.
Pocket-Lint claims that it's an "ultra light" tablet, which might mean that it's cheaply made. Hopefully we'll soon find out whether the image above is real or just a render. It's expected to cost around $350, which seems like a fair price, provided the processor turns out to be fast enough.
MWC is right around the corner, so let's see what else ViewSonic has up its sleeve. Is anyone intrigued by the ViewPad G70? Think it's worth 350 smackaroos? Drop a comment below!

A month ago, we showed you the first leaked shots of an upcoming 4G device, the Samsung R920, for MetroPCS. The device, as we have just learned, was actually the Samsung Conquer 4G, which is available in the U.S. on Sprint. Now MetroPCS is planning to launch it as the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G, and the photo above is said to be what the device will look like upon launch. Still no words on when MetroPCS is planning to have said launch, but it's expected to be sometime within the next month.
The Lightray 4G comes with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch display, 3.2MP camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and of course, 4G LTE connectivity. It'll be running Gingerbread, and we wouldn't expect an ICS update to such a mid-range device.
So, is anyone on MetroPCS planning to pick up the Lightray 4G when it drops? Perhaps as a birthday present for a loved one? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Those who follow HTC on Facebook will have noticed a rather ambiguous post this morning. The picture above was posted along with a one sentence commentary.
This Sunday you'll discover something fast.
We do like fast things around these parts. The real issue that's burning in our minds is the 5 that is emblazoned across the graphic above. Does that referernce the 5 days that we have until this Sunday? What about the 5-pogo-pin of the yet to be announced HTC One X? Perhaps it refers to the five alien masters that brought their collective hive mind together to design this mysterious device? We know not, but rest assured that come this Sunday (according to HTC), we will all be enlightened.
Got an idea as to what HTC is planning? Drop a comment below!

Mobile World Congress is just few days away, and it seems that Japanese giant Fujitsu is getting ready to make a comeback in the smartphone game by announcing a phenomenal phone in Barcelona. Unwired View is reporting that Fujitsu will be launching a quad-core device at MWC with ICS. This might be the same device we heard about last month. While the photo above is a bit generic, it's all we have to go on at the moment. The rumored specs include:
  • Tegra 3 (maximum 1.5Ghz quad-core + companion core) CPU + 12GPU
  • 4.6-inch display
  • 13.1MP camera
  • Water-resistant and dust-resistant
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Ice Cream Sandwich
Fujitsu told the Financial Times that the device will launch with a powerful battery as well. A notable feature is the 13.1MP camera, which will be a challenge to all phones with "high" quality cameras. The fact that it's dust- and waterproof adds to the fact that some users aren't always looking for only faster processors, and that Fujitsu is trying to cover all the bases.
At any rate, it's only a matter of time before Fujitsu's latest creation sees the light of day. One can only hope  that the device's battery will compensate for the strains of a quad-core processor. More on this as it develops.
So who else is excited for MWC? What devices are you looking forward to seeing? Let us know in the comments!

It's rumored that Huawei will announce their next tablet, the MediaPad 10, at MWC next week. Now a Russian blog has leaked some details and photos of the Huawei MediaPad 10.
Hi-Tech Mail claims that the tablet comes with an 8MP camera, a front-facing shooter, a screen aspect ratio of 16:9, 3.5 mm headset jack, microSD card slot, and a SIM card slot, which points to availability on a carrier, most likely with 4G speeds. There's no mention of a screen size, but the name itself suggests something in the 10.1-inch range. We still don't know many other specs, like the processor, RAM, type of screen, or Android version. Based on the photo above, it has a slim profile, and it has the look of a Galaxy Tab 10.1 mixed with an HTC Flyer, which we have to admit, isn't too shabby.
At any rate, the device is rumored to be on Huawei's list of MWC announcements, so hopefully we'll know more by this time next week. You can check out more of the Huawei MediaPad 10 below. Anyone excited for this device? What carrier do you think it might land on? Sound off in the comments!

Two of Verizon's upcoming spring handsets have been leaked online, giving us a pair of new Android smartphones to look forward to seeing.  Thanks to the guys at Droid Life we now have a Droid Fighter and LG Cayman on our radar.
Given that we've just learned of the new models we don't quite know what to expect out of them.  Generally speaking, Motorola tends to own the Droid branding on Verizon however there have been instances of LG, Samsung, and HTC.  With multiple new models expected across various OEMs at next week's Mobile World Congress, it stands to reason that we've yet to see which device will be a Droid Fighter.
One model to consider for this moniker could be the HTC smartphone leaked a few weeks back.  Some may recall learning of the very Incredible-like form factor and Verizon 4G connectivity.  Could an HTC Fireball be the Droid Fighter?  Why not go with an Incredible 3?
Getting to the LG Cayman it's even harder to guess which model is on the horizon.  As many of you know, LG has been on a tear lately, announcing one device after another.  Our gut tells us that it's a quad-core Optimus 4X but we'll find out soon enough.
Assuming that the "workshop" stuff is tied to launch dates, the LG Cayman is expected on March 29th with the Droid Fighter arriving April 12th.

You might not think it but LG could still be holding onto at least one more Android for Mobile World Congress. With the Optimus Max 3D, Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE Tag, and L-Style series already official, it would seem there's not much left for LG. However, using the most infomercial voice we could muster we have to say, "But wait, there's more!" Who could forget the rumored quad-core X3?
According to details obtained by Pocketnow, the X3 should be getting a more formal name for Mobile World Congress. Assuming they can hold onto the secret long enough, we should look for LG to unveil the Optimus 4X next week.
The name makes perfect sense as the first dual-core smartphone ever was LG's Optimus 2X. Get it? Two cores! Four cores would be 4X. Anyone wanna guess what an eight-core handset would be?
As a reminder, the hardware specs for the LG Optimus 4X include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, and 8-megapixel camera. Nestled neatly in a sub-9mm waistline, the smartphone should also include 21Mbps HSPA data connectivity, NFC, and a 2000mAh battery.
Yeah, this sounds like a "best for last" situation to us.

LG either doesn't know how to keep a secret or they are just far too excited over their new smartphones for 2012.  Following closely on the heels of the Optimus L-Style models, Optimus Vu, and Optimus LTE Tag, LG has unveiled their Optimus Max 3D.  As a successor to last year's Optimus 3D, this smartphone features specs that would otherwise put it on par with today's high-end Androids.
The Optimus 3D Max will launch in Korea starting in March and then roll out to other markets beginning in Europe.  Arriving with Android 2.3 Gingerbread at the start, the smartphone will receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich shortly after the launch.  We anticipate seeing the phone come to the United States as a successor to the LG Thrill 3D 4G later this spring.
"The Optimus 3D Max was born from LG's constant efforts to bring user entertainment experience to a higher level," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "The introduction of the Optimus 3D last year ushered in a new era for smartphones and Optimus 3D Max is real proof of LG's commitment to portable 3D entertainment."
LG Optimus 3D Max features:
  • True Performance Muscle with Latest Mobile Technologies
  • HSPA+ 21Mbps, LG Tag+ (NFC), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • HD Converter to offer HD quality on a TV connected through MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link), when transforming Open GL-based 2D games and applications to 3D and viewing Google Earth;
  • True 3D Entertainment Features with Improved 2D-3D Compatibility
